Hero (Tight Solid) - KK UTG

Villain (Random loose aggressive) - ?? on button

Hero bet 5 BB UTG and attracted 4 callers.

Flop - JQJ - Hero bets 35 on flop and everyone fold to Villain on button who reraises to 70. Hero flat calls fearing a J.

Turn - JQJ3 - Hero checks and Villain bets 70. Flat calls.

River - JQJ39 - Hero checks and Villain went all in. Hero thought about it for awhile and fold.

Was it a good fold? or would anyone shove all in on the flop or turn?

Calling 3 streets here without a read that the guy is bluff happy is pretty bad. His turn sizing is weird. How much is the AI on the river? Can he play AQ this way?

Generally this is a pretty trivial fold unless the river shove just isn't very much relative to the pot.

Welcome to the forum, OP. As slim said, we need stack sizes here, but I fold to the flop raise unless I have a strong read that this guy is FOS or is bad enough to raise a Q for value.

As played, I don't hate the turn call as the bet is small and indicates that he might give up OTR and let us realize our SDV.

River is a fold unless the bet is trivially small.

All in was 150 from Villain. About a little less than half the pot I reckon.

He is generally a gambler from 2 previous games I have seen him play. But today he was tight and the only time he went all in was when he hit a set. Therefore, I had to respect the pattern of play today.

However, I was wrong and he showed Kd6d for a huge bluff on the river. If he was playing his usual style I would have stacked him off at the turn. But today, he was pretty tight in all the hands I have seen him play.

We don't want to go multiway in raised pots with TP type hands, especially OOP. So either raise more preflop, or limp/reraise. With laggy guy on the Button and an obviously loose table, I would have limp/reraised preflop. Preflop has put us in a very difficult spot postflop.

I may have checked the flop to see what happens. But when we're raised we just have to fold, even against this guy.
