Well... typically we don’t want to stick in 180BBs with a pear on a board like 532 because we’re not going to get it in with worse often enough for it to not be lighting money on fire.

While we probably have the stronger range (depends on what Hero and V’s are), V could have all the sets/straights and we may not have any given that we’d likely overlimp with 22s, 33s, 55s, 46s and A4s.

I would advise the Hero of this hand to work on visualizing their range and how it interacts with the board in every spot. It’s much harder in-game, but you have to be able to do it in practice first anyways.

This is cross-posted from another forum. I'm guessing Beginner's Questions, though I'm not sure. We haven't actually heard from OP ITT.

check back flop with K in hand

bet folding without the club

as played I'm folding here as you know a jam is likely coming on turn

shoving here is bad

we get nothing to fold other than complete air bluff.
or the odd 10 10, 99 hand that didn't 3-bet pre

sets are calling
smaller made flushes are calling
suited A3 for flopped straight are calling
even A X are most likely calling

Ok so I'm gonna venture a guess the real reason op jammed, and I mean the *real* reason if he were to look deep within is that he just wanted to play a big pot with what he perceived to be the best draw, i.e. gambool it up. A spite jam if you will. KK was the best hand he's had all night and he didnt spend the last 5 hours waiting to fold it. If V turns up with an Ac he tells himself "at least I had a pair", if he shows up vs a made hand "at least I have outs".

Change My Mind

It's from a reddit post. OP isn't a Twoplustwo user.

Gotcha. Could you get OP to come into this thread and/or to pass along the reasoning behind the jam?

Can we get the results on this? Looks like OP just jizzed his pants and shoved since all he saw was black paint.

I don't quite see the point of grilling OP over what was just a mistake. But I can ask them of course.

Not trying to make OP feel bad. It's just that as I recall from before I deleted results, he seemed to think that the shove was almost an obvious move.

For those wondering about results, V called the shove with a J-high flush (J9 or J8s, I forget) and held.
