What K high flushes can villain have here? I mean really, who is checking the turn with an OESD and a flush draw? You might want to see a free card if you have showdown value, but that is KQ only, and why check with top pair? KT has SDV but is a little light to open with. Hero correctly targeted straights and baby flushes. QTss could be here too, but again, that is a little bit of a weak hand to open with pre.

The only issue I have is the sizing, which could be a tell to some villains. If villain holds the Ts, then he blocks one of the best cards for Hero to continue with on the flop. When Hero checks back the turn, it makes his A2ss-A8ss less likely, since those are good hands to float with. Sizing is a little bit of a nitpick, since typical villains aren't putting in $800 with a small flush. It just seems like an unnecessary risk when $350-$400 gets the same result.

Very good point. I would bet a good amount that more than half of the people who are saying this play is "so so so so bad" and total spew would say something almost exactly like "snap fold. duh lol V always has the nuts, easy fold and dont even think twice about it" if this was posted from the V's point of view.

At first glance it does look odd, if not terrible, but after some thought I really like it. One thing I dont like about it though is the fact that its a 1-3 table. I feel like a 2-4 or 2-5 table would be perfect for it; 'older man fish trying to play good' probably folds here 100% of the time. I feel like at 1-2 or 1-3 youll run into the '"what do you mean how could I have called? I had a flush!!" guy' who calls with 67ss a little too often.

I wonder if its worth betting something like 700 or 650 instead of the 800 shove. I dont know if that looks exactly like what it is, but I cant imagine too many V that call 650 but fold to 800. I could be wrong though, I dont play 1-3.

I say good hand, sir. Bordering on maniacal but still good. Also, added meta benefit: when you do get called and muck, you will look INSANE to most people. Shoving 800 into a 100 dollar pot and then just mucking would look bat **** to probably everyone at the table and that could gain you some big calls in the future. Small point but still

Also: I think pre is interesting. I dont think I would/do fold AJ on the button to a MP standard raise, like ever, but thinking about it is making we wonder. What does everyone think?
