It never hurts and you would be surprised how many times players will give you information that will help you make decisions. I asked a guy once to see a card when he went all in and he said, "Sure. At first I was like "what card could he possibly show that would help", but actually if he shows an ace, I think we should fold, since it eliminates TT and 99 from his range. A lot of OMCs would flat with AQ and I also think that, even if trips are in his range, he's more likely to show the ace if he has a boat.
