1/3 good spot? 1/3 good spot?

Hi all,

Overall a very very loose 1/3 game.

All players are very loose except me and V who has not played a hand yet.

He is a young guy. He has around 200 to start the hand

OTTH: one limp UTG I limp 89cc UTG+1 cutoff limps V raises button to 17

UTG calls, I call others fold

(58) Flop Js 9s 6c

Checks thru

Turn 2d

Checks to button he bets 20 UTG calls I call

(118) River 7d

Checks to button again who bets 51

V folds and I check raise all in .. good spot?

I don’t think he’s repping much at all.. such a weird line. I thought about just calling here cuz I think I’m good a lot. I just decided to turn it into a bluff cuz I can have all the two pairs sets straight etc more often then he can.

One reason possibly against my play is his shallow stack size

I like my hand for blocking a ton of his calling range once I check raise all in

Pre is questionable the first time and very bad the second.

As played I just fold turn against tight villain with UTG call.

Do we really expect him to bluff river into two people? Agreed that his line seems suspect. I’d rather call than raise tho. Doubt he’s folding a value hand here.

Pre is a fold unless the caller is deep enough

Looks like V is calling 100 to win a pot of 400 so you'll probably get looked up by anything better than 9x, but I agree his range is quite capped after checking behind flop so there's not much he can reasonably call with. I think I prefer a call here as we're beating plenty of his bluffs and few better hands are going to fold (assuming he would check back a hand like TT on the river)

Pre is awful both times

Turn seems std to me

River seems like a decent bluff, i am not calling here. He could be value betting A9 or 1010

Raise/fold pre and stay or go home and never return.

I fold preflop both times. I doubt 98s is profitable in EP at most tables; if you disagree, then I can't hate attempting to getting into a pot for cheap (although this will also rarely happen at most tables). But calling a raise OOP for 8.5% of stacks is just horrible, imo.

I'm also checking (to fold) the flop.

I would have bet like $30 on the turn. Highly doubt the raiser is checking back any pair on this flop just 3ways, plus first dude has also checked first two streets. All signs point to us having the best hand so let's just protect our equity with a bet. As played (checking), facing a very small bet and a call there is probably decent argument for raising at this point (but I think a bet is mostly so much better).

Weird spot on the river. My initial reaction is just check/call. But at this point his hand really looks like TT and almost nothing else, so maybe turning our hand into a bluff here (although we rep nothing) ain't terrible.
