1/3 getting x/minraised ott with TP

Hero good winning image (~1,7k)
Villain very quiet so far. Didnt see him show down a hand (230)

Hero raises 10 with JT in co, btn and villain in bb call.
Flop (31) T83
bb checks, hero bets 20, btn folds, villain calls.
Turn (71) T834
hero bets 50, villain x/r to 100 (100 behind).

Dont know what to think of this weird sizing with so little behind.

Annoying spot. Guess it comes down to whether you think V would do this with draws, as you beat no value hands. Id fold, but if you're putting him on a draw then I think you should be shoving if you're continuing. Even with this soaking wet board, I'd be check/evaluating turn a lot.

Re: 1/3 getting x/minraised ott with TP

When villain called otf i thought he could likely be on a draw. Thats why i bet ott to get value from draws and with the plan to check back river. Dont think a worse hand is calling often enough 3 streets here. When he x/minraised turn i thought that we are beat here too often vs such a player.
I ended up making an exploitative fold and think it was a good decision.

Tough spot. I would have sized up a bit on the flop and then check back turn. I think firing again is over playing your hand a bit.

I'm fine with our small open to attempt to get this HU in position, unfortunate that it didn't work out. I also think open limping is fine (but I'll get flamed for that).

I'm fine with our flop bet.

Against a straightforward ABC guy I'm mostly bet/folding the turn on this drawy board. Against someone who could bluff busted draws I'd check behind. So I'm cool with a bet/fold here.

Even for this sizing I'm fine folding. These are either high equity combo draws or sets. You're drawing hear dead against his value range.

Against a quiet villain who I'm not expecting a bluff, I am somewhat OK checking back the turn. They have way too many better T's in their hand, so we don't value own ourselves. Betting the turn isn't bad given the wetness, but it's going to be hard to get worse made hands to call or better to fold. We're right on that threshold. I'd almost rather bet a pair with slightly less showdown value like 87s or 66 that can still extract value from all the draws, but has the potential to also knock out some T's.

Re: 1/3 getting x/minraised ott with TP

Definitely checking turn against a V whose range doesn't have nonsense like J2cc. I doubt we're getting much value from a very quiet V's continuing range; we're going to be value cutting ourselves a lot against stronger Tx (and obv he has a few slowplayed monsters), and lots of his clubs have additional outs to hit overs and/or straights.

fwiw we're 45% against this range (just for the sake of illustration, not to claim this is necessarily V's turn continuing range): {TT,88,33,ATs,A8s,KTs,QTs,J9s+,T8s+,97s,AcQc,KcQc, AcJc,KcJc,QcJc,Ac9c,9c8c,Ac7c,8c7c,Ac6c,8c6c,7c6c, Ac5c,6c5c,Ac4c,5c4c,Ah3h,Ac2c,ATo}

Edit: folding to the minraise as played. It's frustrating because the c/r makes better Tx unlikely and there just aren't that many realistic combos we're losing to, but the described V probably isn't taking this line with draws often enough to continue.

Grunch:

Meh, ****ty spot. It's hard to check back the turn since the original FD and straight draw is still there. I tend to give villain's credit for a hand initially, especially when they make strong moves later in the hand such as x/r on the turn.

I can find a call if v can take this line with A4 A8 97 (combo draws) or any FDs.

I can find the fold button if his x/r is value heavy. I don't see most villain's take this line with T9, T7 or a worst T. I think x/c flop and x/r turn line is more consistent with a hand better than JT.

sucks, I fold
