V is young Asian guy who had c/r and then barreled 2-3 times in the last hour or so since he joined the table. He was limping and limp/calling a lot.
The one time his hand when to showdown after his c/r he had the goods.

V(covers) limps in EP
Hero ($240) raises to $20 in LP w/black AK
BB ($200) calls
V calls

Flop AQ3 (60)
BB checks
V checks
H bets 40
V min c/r to 80

Hero?

Vs. young barreling asian kid I think jamming for his remaining $120 is standard. Wouldn't think too much about it. V's profile makes this pretty easy for me.

Agreed. Easy Jam at those stack sizes. Maybe you’re toast to A3 but you’re ahead of basically his entire range.

if you have a read that hes capable of doing this with less than two pair, then shove it in. word of warning though, alot of the players ive seen live only do this here if they have AK beat.

Probably better to flat and get it in OTT.

I agree with Chris here. Villain’s range could be any Ace here. Very possible he convinces himself to fold OTF with the bottom ~half of these aces. It sucks when he has a flush draw but he probably isn’t folding that OTT anyways unless its a really disconnected one like 87hh. Call all turns, shove all turns if checked to.

I make it $25+ preflop to get in 10% of stacks and make it more comfortable to stack off postflop with TP.

SPR is about 3.5 and board is somewhat drawy. For better or worse, I feel committed here and I'm looking to get this over by the turn. So I PSB the flop to shove the turn.

As played, I'm never loving get check/raised on the flop (my default would be to fold if not feeling committed). But in this case (a) I feel committed, (b) the board is drawy so draws can be doing this and (c) this guy has shown a history of flop check/raises (although admittedly he showed up with the goods the one time we saw his cards). I ship it; a slightly bigger preflop raise makes this slightly more comfortable.

I like the idea of planning the hand around commitment, but I would add another reason for raising bigger pre-flop is simple value.

Villain has demonstrated a tendency of limp-calling. We're crushing all of his holdings, and he isn't going to fold. Value opportunity. I might even go to $35 here.

We're not always going to have an opportunity to stack off. And when we don't, it's nice to make an extra $10. It seems like a small detail, but that's really the kind of stuff that adds up to a few extra BB's per hour.
