1/3 Flopped middle set, get check raised

1/3 270 effective stacks

hero just moved from another table, TAG image 800 stack. played about an orbit, no real reads on villain

8 handed
HJ limps, I raise CO with TT to 15, Villain BB calls.

Flop: Qh Th 3c

BB check, I bet 20 into 34, he check raises to 50, We?

1) flat, since he's drawing dead with most Qx, let him barrel off on safe turns and get stacks in then since we have position
2) 3-bet to 140, get immediate value if he has some sort of combo draw or AQ KQ
3) jam

Sweet! Nice problem to have. I just jam it in now as 1) few players have a c/r/f range and 2) a lot of cards can come that kill our hand or (more likely) our action.

Call. Keep all bluffs and bad queens in his range. You're in position so you can evaluate what he does on the turn and jam then.

Raising to 110-125

Never calling. Only jamming if I have a read that V is committed after the raise

Default for me is to 3b to 140. If he is a very machizzzzmo "I dont care about money" type villain I might Jam it in right here because as was mentioned, many cards can either kill your action or complete villains draw.

I struggle to think of a villain I would be calling here. Even with a super spew player who will bluff turn, there are just too many draws.

Those advocating clicking it back and shipping turn, why are we not just jamming flop?

call

but I question how in one orbit you can think you have a TAG image?
did you posture your chips in an aggressive manner

easy 3bet to $120-$150 and pot committing yourself. allows someone to call because they c/r and feel pot committed on the turn.

if they are nitty, they may even fold if they only have 1 pair.

I favor the 3b to $125-$150 range.

And you think the same nitty player is check-raising with one pair?

This is an obvious re-raise. Flatting is terrible. I think it's probably a jam as most players have pretty solid x/r ranges anyway and aren't very likely to fold.

I'd basically click it back, let him jam with his combo draws then beat him to the pot. Make it like $120, he's never folding a decent FD or SD for that price

Re: 1/3 Flopped middle set, get check raised

Fairly nice preflop result.

SPR is about 8.5 on the flop, which means we can play for stacks with 3 bets. Board is quite drawy. I'd plan to PSB the first two streets to setup an easy river shove. Unless history/reads really comes into play, I mainly PSB the flop because Villain typically either has a hand worth calling a flop bet or he doesn't, so let's just get max value out of the times he does.

Again, unless history/reads tell us otherwise, I'd typically be reraising against someone who check/raises here as check/raise/folding is such a unicorn play. Are enough scare cards that could potentially kill action/hand that I would consider a jam to this strong action, but raising to setup a turn jam is probably fine too.

I'd more slowplay against people who see me as a nut peddling nit and could make some folds here or a very aggressive player who might attempt to get me off of weak hands. Nothing in the reads suggest that is the case here.
