Sorry, title should say “donk bet” — autocorrected

1/3, 200 effective

On the button with Ad2d

Two limps to me, I limp behind, BB checks

Flop ($13): 7s2h2s
Checks to me, I bet $15, HJ calls, CO calls.
(This is large relative to the pot, but I suspect that when the pot is very small people decide to call based on the absolute size of the bet, and I wanted to get the pot growing)
HJ and CO call

Turn ($58): Jh
HJ leads out for $65
CO folds
I jam for $120 effective

I wasn’t sure about raising turn vs flatting and seeing what he does on the river. Few conflicting thoughts —
1. there are two flush draws out, so his big turn bet could have been a semi bluff with OK equity if called. This is why I chose to raise.
2. leading out on turn after check/calling flop seems weak/suspicious — maybe he has a J and wants to “see where he’s at”? — but I would have expected him to bet smaller if so
3. It could be a total airball and he wants to “represent the 2”, as people like to say, in which case flatting now would give him a chance to fire one more time on the river.

Thoughts?

Pre I'm indifferent to over limping v. raising.

Flop is perfect.

I'm jamming the turn as well. There are now two FDs, and vs a sligh overbet lead villain is heavily weighted towards a FD or 2x. I'm not really concerned about JJ given limp-call pre, though anything's possible in LLSNL. We aren't afraid of folding out villain's bluffs, because he's calling a shove with his FDs.

Also, I realized the way I described the jam wasn’t accurate — I raised $120 on top of his $65, so $185 total. It’s a larger bet (about 1x pot) but I don’t think it changes the decision.

Ha, no — he folded to the turn jam. Wouldn’t say what he had, just that he was “trying to represent the 2”, which had me second guessing whether it would have been better to let him bluff the river. But overall I’m fine with how this went.

Nh. There’s not enough behind to let him bluff river

Agree with the crowd. Nice hand. Just because he folded this time does not mean you should worry about the raise. You played it fine.
