Just checking a call I made because of the live situation. MP player had just been in a hand where on the flip he beat, player to his left raised to 50ish and he wanted to raise throwing in a black chip. Apparently none heard him say raise and after some yelling and a floor being called it was ruled a call. He seemed steamed after he beat turn got shoved on and folded. At this point I thought he was very tilted and may blast off anything and leave. Table is 8 handed.

I would call this villain's shove, but I also would check this flop.

I'm fine with the hand as < $100 stacks can go in so easily at 1/3 NL, especially to a tilted player. This is any piece / a draw enough of the time, imo, although obviously we'll lose a decent amount of the time too.

ETA: I'm either/or with flop small bet versus check behind. Our hand could still easily be best and if it is quite vulnerable and we're pretty cool with taking it down now as later streets will probably get uglier and uglier.

This is a very common spot you see in NL. V gets tilted by losing a big pot (or gets screwed in the situation that Hero described), makes a loose call, and shoves when he gets a piece of the board or flops a draw. Tens are good most of the time here. You have to call. If he has a Jack, so be it.

I don't mind the flop bet, as long as you plan to call the shove from the tilting V.

I am totally fine with the flop bet.

If we had checked, and an A came on the turn, everyone would have said, "You should have bet the flop."
