Villain (HJ): 20s Latino, no reads other than the fact that he has a backpack, hoodie and headphones (covers)
Hero (CO): late 20s Asian guy, first hand dealt ($300)

Two limpers to villain who makes it $16 in the HJ. Hero calls in the CO with 88. Everyone else folds.

Flop: 765 ($38)

Villain bets $20. Hero calls.

Turn: A ($77)

Villain checks. Hero ???

Obviously could check back and take my showdown value and free draw. But I run the risk of him bluffing me off on the river with like KJ cause my hand is clearly weak. Or I can turn my hand into a bluff and barrel off the river since this board is horrible for his range. How many aces is he cbetting there?

I don't think there's much point in bluffing here. He's not going to fold an A on the turn and isn't going anywhere with Ks, or any sets. Maybe we could get him off TT-JJ if we double barrel but I don't like it.

Check back and reevaluate on river.

I'd also call preflop as I'd expect this to mostly create a 4+ way pot where I could then mostly just setmine in position (and thanks to going so multiway preflop I'd mostly just have to make up one bet postflop to be breakeven+). Unfortunate (and I'm guessing unexpected) result, imo.

I think I'm also calling the flop to see what happens on the turn.

Think I'm either/or on the turn. I probably lean towards a check (small hand that doesn't want to build a pot, we're fine with taking our OESD free card), although admittedly we might be put in a bit of a spot on the river if he bets. I don't hate a bet but I think we often simply valuetown ourselves unless this guy is getting a little out of line preflop against 2 limpers with 4 people behind him.
