Hi all,

V1 middle aged lady. Only has like 50 to start.
Playing loose passive overall

V2: young to middle aged guy. Got coolered a rebought for the max. He lompedJJ UTG+2 and called my button raise one hand

H: younger. Very card dead. Tightest at the table by far. Prob the most aggressive

V2 has about 400 to start I have 310

OTTH: V1 raises to 7 V2 calls I call on the button with AdJc

Blinds fold

(25) Flop 6d 3D 2d

V 1 bets 8 V2 calls I raise to 28

V1 folds V 2 calls

(81) Turn 5c he checks I bet 50 and he calls

(181) River is a 10s

He checks I jam

Thoughts?

Im not sure I like continuing to barrel here after V calls the flop raise. This board is super wet so he likely has a monster here, but obviously he doesn't have the nuts. A passive player could easily play a set, flush, or straight this way. You block the nut flush draw so its less likely he is drawing. Getting passive/bad opponents to become disciplined folders rarely works out at 1/3.

As played, we have to barrel the river so wp.

Flop raise is fine, i’d give up after getting called though. Id raise a lot bigger otf

Turn and river a little spewy imo

O yeh, fold pre... you cant be calling raises vs a 16bb stack who is super passive w/ AJo. 3b or fold. AQo is harder to say, depends on her OR and limping range looks like overall

Villain really likes his hand despite the single suit flop. Obviously, you jammed because you're holding the A and you assume he's going to be gun-shy about getting stacked again.

I think this is one of those hands that one has to be there in person to have a sense about if this bluff jam is going to work.

Just threebet pre and go with the hand vs middle aged lady.

Given the hand where the guy limped and called a raise with JJ, I don't really want to launch a multi-street bluff. With the middle-aged lady being so short, I think it's plausible he flats in that spot with some strong hands. I'm fine with the flop raise, but once that gets called, I'd shut it down. I think otherwise (vs opps with other tendencies) it's a fine line, but vs this guy I'd rather not.

Meh

Dont overthink blockers in lower-stakes games, it's just not the right audience most of the time.

Following that reasoning, the flop raising seems 'cute' to me, I dont really think you should expect to get a lot of respect, especially from a short stack. I would often checkback the turn as it's a pretty horrible card for us, and expect villain to snap off any river bet.. calling 2x to fold this river seems pretty bad.

I dont like the turn sizing either, I feel like we want to create more pressure immediately or set up a lot of pressure on the river, I feel like the chosen sizing makes villains decision easier.

Trivial preflop fold. Short passive lady just raised preflop? AJo is junk, and it doesn't play well deep against the other guy either (who can easily have us dominated). My guess is that if I never played AJo ever from any position for any amount I'd do perfectly fine (a little bit of an exaggeration, but not much).

Even though the short lady's bet sizing is wack, she's still raising and betting, so I'm not convinced we have any FE (even though she does end up folding so what do I know). Without FE, there's less reason to raise and more reason just to call, plus we don't want to run into a flopped monster by V2 and get reraised and blown off the nut draw, imo.

As soon as I'm called by V2 (who looks to be super passive with big hands given his JJ limp/call play) I'm done with the hand. I take my free card on the turn.
