Hi all,

1/3 game effective stack is me with 300

H: very tight image but only playing here for about 45 mins.

V: I have a good relationship with this V for a local card room. We are very friendly to each other and always say hi but I don’t really get to play with him.

He is capable of bluffing from what I seen (turned AKdd into a bluff on 789dd brick brick)

I open AA UTG+1 to 13 he 3! To 30 UTG +2

I just flat

(64) Flop Ks Jh 4d

I check he goes 50.... we call

(114) Turn 8h he bets 110

Thoughts?

This is pretty gross I think if we call flop we sigh here?

4bet to $100-120 preflop. I fold turn I guess.

You put yourself in this awkward position by not 4betting.

4! pre.

AP this doesn’t seem gross to me.
I am happily x/jamming flop.
Or happily x/jamming turn.

If you lose, you lose. This isn’t a spot to be upset about GII.

You are massively overthinking this 100bb deep.

Dude you're telling me some guy is only pot potting sets and KJ in a 3b pot? You really think whatever his range is, he's folding all hands worse than AA? That's not even a bad thing considering he should have decent equity here.

Tbh, I would be happy that he’s potting it here.
I don’t even hate the hand AP, but you absolutely need to x/jam turn and be very happy about it. If you folded, you should feel shame.

He's folding AK getting ~5:1?

Pre is somewhat villain dependent, but i like how this hand was played. Clear jam now.

I didn’t fold .

I thought the flop sizing was very weird

But he had KK

It happens.
Unusual that he’d pot twice here imo.
I wouldn’t be too bothered by it though.
Next hand.

We were ahead of nothing that would of called our jam on the turn. KQ isn't 3 betting and then two barreling when J is there, we have blockers to AK.

This leaves KK, JJ. QJ would never two barrel here.

Turn pot size is $164 (64 + 50*2). 4bet to $85 pre. I'm just getting it in on this turn. We have $220 left, the final pot would be $600, so we need ~37% equity to GII if villain is never folding. Against KK, JJ, and 4 combos of AK (incl. AhKh), we are 38.9%. Add in any potential spaz factor and it's a slam dunk shove.

If you’re putting people on strictly KK/JJ here I would love to quit my job and play against you every day of my life.

Obv you lost or this doesn't appear.

Takeaway is not that you took a bad line, or you should have 4b AA always, but rather that it's just a super-outlier result. Not because he 2 outed you, but because he luckboxed a goldilocks zone spot where he was able to get you to stack off against the nuts even though your calling range is super-elastic to bet-sizing. Meaning, he probably only bets the nuts this size and makes the stone minimum <90% of the time. I'd just chuckle and buy back my chips from the prodigy.

What is the 3! range for UTG +2 at 1/3?

QQ+, AK, maaaaaybe JJ but discounted. AQs and AJs suited not very likely, and all but eliminated based on our AA.

AA blocks AA and AK, skewing the range toward KK/QQ, moreso to the former simply because people are more likely to 3! KK than QQ.

K & J on the flop alters the range to be more heavily weighted toward QQ, and less KK/JJ and even less AK, but AKcc and AKhh are still available.

Considering how passively our AA as been played and V description, QQ continuing to fire out seems more than valid.

Jamming turn is fine. Already 274 in, jam makes it 494, V needs 110 to call. QQ will.

"Blocking AK" still leaves more combos of AK than KK.

For some reason I didn't grunch this one.

I understand our reason for just flatting preflop, as with a very tight image at these stacks a raise/4bet UTG vs EP is going to be seen as pretty damn nuttish. Obviously 4bet if you want to make life completely simple, but flatting to create a very small SPR with an underrepped hand and inducing possible spazz on missed 7 high whiffed flops ain't horrible, imo.

I'm more in OPs court postflop regarding this is pretty gross action. I think we're about 50/50 combo-wise for AK vs KK/JJ. And yet does AK even play it this way? He likely loses our QQ with a turn bet, so why hammer; he's really only getting called by chopping AK. QQ/TT very unlikely to play turn this way, imo, and expecting spazz on this board is optimistic (although I suppose AQ could think of getting out-of-line and maybe he shows up with lol KQ once and a while). Not convinced we can fold, but I think spot is a lot grosser than others are making out.
