Full-ring. 1/2NL. Caught the poker bug again after a recent Vegas trip. Haven't played regularly since ~2009. I feel like retained a fair amount of fundamentals to turn a profit in Florida's low stakes scene. Set aside a 10BI roll to see if I can become a winning player with study and effort. This is hand is from my 6th session over the last month which took place tonight.

Hero: Young guy. Haven't played many hands. Image probably very tight.

Villain: Mid-60s. Fits the mold of the room, which is located near a large retirement community and full of regulars on a first name basis. My first hand at the table I saw him limp-reraise QQ. Plays most hands. Raises preflop frequently and passively plays draws post, seems to lead with a made hand. Showdowns have been quality.

UTG ($250) effectively min-raises to $5. Hero ($225) is UTG+1 with black JJ and 3 bets to $25. Folds around to villain ($500)in the CO who flats. UTG folds.

Flop comes 2c5c7d ($58)

Hero leads for $50. Villain calls.

Turn is Th ($158)

Hero quickly shoves ($150) ???

Hands seems fine... I’m guessing that you’re ranging him on KcXc+ and the shove is for value?

I’d likely go smaller on the flop and turn, but kudos for going for max value.

I did put him on 2 over cards with the club draw.

Villain snap called and flipped over QQ

He could easily have AXcc too with a steel wheel draw. But I wouldn’t imagine him folding with K9+ clubs either, although questionable if he calls with K9cc PF.

Hope the river was a J for ya!

NH. I would have bet less flop, but you were getting stacked here.

I like 40-45 on the flop.

I’m ok with the shove.

I think what happens more often than not preflop is you take down $5 + the blinds. I would not have gone any bigger than $20.

You got some run good that CO had a hand like TT-88 he could flat with preflop and more run good on the flop and turn runout.

Hand is well played in a vacuum but this is such an outlier outcome.

You could just bet 100 as it's all going in anyway and would provide more incentive for a call.
