Villain is a solid TAG/sLAG capable of changing gears. His first hand since moving from a broken table. He has around 600.

Villain likely views hero as tight reg. Hero has 300.

Table is loose-splashy

Hand:

3 limpers, villain limps in CO, Hero limps with 56ss BTN, sb calls and bb checks.

Flop (14): Jd 5h 5d

Loose fish in ep bets 8, loose player calls, Villain raises to 30, Hero thinks for abit and reraises to 70, folds to villain who shoves all in, hero?

Construct a range of V, then see if you have the odds to call.

Fold if not.

i put V on A5, 45, 57, maybe 56. I dont think his range can be any wider than that. thoughts?

How are we expected to construct a range from:

Quote:
Villain is a solid TAG/sLAG capable of changing gears. His first hand since moving from a broken table. He has around 600.
And that he limped in CO?

I would've called the 3p, not raised.

As played, I'm folding.

At low limits 4-bets are rarely bluffs or marginal hands - like AJ or Jx for example.

We only beat a bluff basically.

Can't v have flush draw?

Edit: misread action, probably not flush draw. Absent specific reads i guess this is a fold.

A) You have constructed a range that has you crushed .. fold

B) What does V expect you to have here? Are you ever 3-betting with Jx/AA-QQ here? If not, then this is an easy fold since he 'knows' you have a 5x. Exception here is a guy who will do this with a flush draw as often as he has a 'made' hand.

C) What are you 'afraid' of by 3-betting ... and offering perfect 3 to 1 (40 into 82) odds for a flush draw to call (with another player to act as well)?

When you have a 5x hand here what do you expect to continue against 'your' range? This is a flat and see here. Don't give your hand away so soon OTB ... or put yourself in a position where you might/should fold.

You may have saved chips here by folding now, but you lose value in the long run against Jx/flush draws going to the Turn. This was a limpfest and you ramped it up big time here OTF. I try to avoid these type of spots without something a little closer to the nuts .. go for value, not home run/folds. GL

I would fold too because you don't have enough information on V. He (V) also doesn't have a lot of information on the table since he just arrived so a bluff from him is less likely.

Also I think you should have flat called V raise... or at least make a bigger bet than that!

Seems like a pretty standard fold.
I don't really love the flop 3bet to be honest.
Feels like a folding out worse, getting called/raised by better type situation.
