Weird hand, let me see what you think.

Villain read: Older player, perhaps plays a bit too many hands. Think he likes the gamble. Still, when it has gone to showdown on the river, he always seems to have strong hands when he calls. I haven't seen him get very aggressive at all.

Villain's stack is around $350, hero's is around $800.

Hero/BUT has AJ

SB posts $1, BB posts $2, EP raises to $12, Villian/MP calls $12, HJ [aggro-fish] calls $12, CO [decent LAG] calls $12, Hero/BUT calls $12???, SB folds, BB calls $10.

6-handed, $73 in the pot. Flop is AQJ

BB bets $35. Vil/MP bets $175!! and has $175 behind fold, fold to hero. Hero tanks... a lot. Hero shoves $600???

So he's basically an OMC? Honestly I probably just muck and hope he didn't have AK/QJ this one time.

Even AK has good equity agaisnt you, I don't think you make much of a mistake folding everything but the nuts when an OMC starts shoveling money in the pot.

Edit: wait he isnt an omc. Still if hes been mostly passive just muck whatever.

6 handed, top and bottom on a straight board, committing overbet, hand couldn't be in the muck quicker

Nevermind, I figured this out as I was typing it up.

This player was asian and rarely spoke, it may not be that he had a great command of the English language. And I noticed that the player often had dirty chip stacks and it had to be pointed out to him, twice, prior to this hand. I had never seen him overbet the pot before. It was a very out-of-character move for this villian.

What I think happened was that since the Villian doesn't speak English he didn't vocalize his action. And I think, looking back, he must have been color-blind.. That would explain the dirty stacks.

So what I think happened was that the player intended to simply call BB's $35 bet (which was 7 red chips) and instead put out 7 green chips.

The result: Villain called my bet(he had too much out there not to) and tabled a mediocre hand - A6 Hero tabled his AJ. Queen of spades came on the turn, giving us both AAQQJ, but realizing now what had happened, I'm not too broken up about it.

This.

Ignoring the results I've seen posted above, even the bluffs that could possibly make sense (KhXh and JhTh IMO) have huge equity and the value hands just have you crushed.

Apologies if the opinion of a first time poster isn't welcome.

I must be missing something, but isn't this pretty much exactly a PSB? $73 in the pot, $35 bet + V's $35 make it $143, and V made it $140 on top.

Anyway, even though I read results I think this is a fold. non-aggressive older gentleman just raised flop in a spot where all 16 nutted combos are squarely in his range. If he's bluffing he still likely has great equity.

Also, any reads on the EP PFR? There's a lot of money in the pot and a squeeze could be in order pre.

I would say that the EP PFR isn't necessarily only playing nutted hands. The problem is, as I said, I have a hand that is *theoretically* good enough to 3-bet squeeze (and against 5 calls of $12, I'd have to bet something like $90) - but I have to let it go if 4-bet, *and* I'm likely to get enough callers to have to play fit-or-fold with the flop anyway.
