Saturday night, Montreal casino.
Hand 1

250 effective.
UTG limps, HJ limps, hero raises to 15 with QT from the BTN, BB calls and the other limpers call. BB is an asian middle-aged guy who defends his BB or straddle really wide (eg : T3s) but plays very straightforwardly postflop.

Flop : QK6
60$

Everybody checks, hero?

Hand 2
An hour later, after having won pots with AA and KK at showdown and built a big stack, this spots occurs.
Straddle pot and stacks between 250 and 400 effective. HJ limps, CO limps, hero raises to 25 with 96 from the BTN, BB (same asian dude) calls like the rest of the limpers.

Flop : AK5
100$

Everybody checks, hero?

Both hands, bet 2/3 pot.

We probably are ahead in Hand 1, nobody checks top pair multi way in my games.

We are probably not yet ahead in Hand 2, but a flop bet, if called, might well allow us to see the turn AND river without further betting.

If check-raised, easy fold in both hands.

400$ is a big stack in montreal? Justin's 50% tax must really be making it hard times.

Hand 1 clear check.

Hand 2 overlimp pre. Raising at this stack depth against these villains is burning money in any case, but especially if you don't know how to play a standard spot like this.
