1/2 NL, 2 hours into session session, 9 handed, effective stack $225. Villain has only been at the table for 45 minutes. He's more on the aggressive side, far from a nit but on the tighter side. Hero has a very aggressive image, and probably comes off as somewhat tight to villain.

OTTH

It's folded to hero OTB who opens $10 Q 7 and only villain in SB calls.

Flop ($22): Q J 7. Villain leads for $15 and hero calls.

Turn ($52): 8. Villain bets $20. I know we have the board pretty locked, but he's on the tighter side, seems like a good Q...Idk what villain would really have as bluffs here and I want to play a bigger pot, set up a jam, and leave AQ and KQ in, so I raised to $75. Thoughts?

i like the raise. i still think he calls a pretty good queen and will likely call a non-heart river. we're losing to qj or 77 only

Looks good to me, I think I would play this the exact same so far.
Perfect turn card to build a pot on when we pick up additional equity, as well as the possibility of a brutal river card which you may need/want to check back.
Get the raise in on the turn is def best.

I'd never make it 5x on the button, it's just better to play smaller pots when we have weaker ranges. Specially at 1-2 where rake is relatively high and 3bets are few and far between.

Postflop looks good, but i'm definitely raising flop at a reasonable frequency also.

I would probably go 4x pre, but meh. Small difference.
And most rooms don’t rake hands that don’t take a flop.

I'd raise turn a bit smaller, say $65. Opponent range doesn't look that strong with a <40% PSB, so flatting will allow him to see a cheap river and fold unimproved.

Range includes KT/QT/JT type hands. AQ/KQ are ideal 3b candidates pre given this configuration, though at $1/$2 NL many players will just flat.

Raise flop, AP yeah raise turn, he has all T9 here tho but you have the boat/flush redraw worst case

I like it, but the turn bet is a bit big. I'd go $60 or $65.

H is uncapped and V has donked flop and led turn. I prefer to raise this flop. But AP, I’m not sure H is ahead so I’m not sure what H is trying to accomplish by raising this turn.

H blocks logical flush draws except 10h9h which already beats us on the turn. I’m not sure why we’re wanting to fold out a weak Q. We block a set of 77. We’re behind QJ but we block it. Villain either is way ahead or must bink 2 non-heart cards for a better 2 pair.

Prefer to flat turn. Since we block the Sfd a heart could be gin and we can stack him.

raise flop - why would you raise a turn card that helps your opponent?

I would have raised to $40-45 on the flop.

Given that you flatted, I like the turn raise. Kind of like $60 better, but $75 isn't unreasonable. Need to build the pot. You have a best hand a lot of the time....need to get value from AQ or KQ, charge KT to draw, and charge a hand like AT of hearts. Hero blocks QJ and 77, JJ will 3 bet sometimes preflop....so there isn't a lot of combos of hands that beat Hero, and if Hero is behind, Hero has a lot of outs.
