Two limpers I raise to $14 with AQo in the CO. A few calls.

Flop ($55)

Q96r

One of the limpers who's drinking but mostly sober donks $50. We started the hand ~$350 eff. I call everyone else folds.

Turn ($155)

Q96 7

He bets $100. I call.

River ($355)

Blank. He shoves. I figure he has to have TPTK beat. What else is he donking three times into me for and shoving river that I beat? Maybe JT/87s but that's about it. I am getting 3:1 though so only need to be good 25% of the time. I ask him if he'll show if I fold. He shrugs and says sure (indication that he wants me to fold???). I tank folded. If the river paired or improved my hand I woulda called but it was just a blank low card. Should I have tried to bluff catch?

Any history with this villain? What's he been playing like so far in your session?

Honestly idk if I can find a fold here. He has a lot of 2p and sets, but he could have a weaker Q here a lot too.

Given the odds you are getting I am calling but am not happy about it.

kinda tough hand when i think about it. looks so weak cause of the big donk bet but tht could just be me leveling myself.

At these stakes we are assuming Vils are not very deep thinkers, hes not turning KQ into a bluff here knowing your range could be capped by just calling while his isnt by leading into it. But he could just be seeing KQ and thinking I got the nuts im gonna bet for value.

Im gonna min raise flop and fold to a shove but this without any reads.

No reads on this guy, really? Nothing? Is he playing a lot of hands? Is he tight?

You've got to make your decision on the turn. When he blasts the turn like this you should decide if you are going to call a river shove. If you're not, just fold the turn, which is probably what I do here. In my experience this donk/bet/shove line is always 2 pair+. Flatting flop is OK because they'll often slow down once you call with their drawing hands, but once they keep the pressure on you're in rough shape. Fold turn.

I forgot to mention that he called a squeeze with AQ OOP, donked $50 and called a $100 raise into a KJx flop to turn broadway and double up through the squeezer who had AK.

i call. too many people say to themselves i might as well bet as i am going to call if he bets.

and you know it works as many times they fold the winner.

i would have raised the turn if i wasnt going to call the river looking for a bluff.

So you folded. Did he show? The answer to this question is lesson enough.

His line is a pretty good line for a sophisticated player with a set.

If he's not a sophisticated player, then his line looks like JT.

Dude that's pretty good info. I'm raising flop or turn now and happily getting it in.

Raising flop would be my first thought though then shove rest in turn.

Yeah I like a raise on the flop to $125, and then shoving turn

Def calling here given the AQ hand.

He did show. 87s for a flopped open ender and turned pair. And yeah given the AQ hand it's probably a snap call or turn shove but I chickened out unfortunately.
