Hi so recently I played in this homegame I always play in weekly and had this spot that really bothered me and looking back I could of done a tone of things differently but am keen to see yere thoughts. Game is with 7 hands all really good friends and decent players.

V= Good player was in for a lot for a homegame for friends and in the last hour is running like god cannot lose.

H= Also in for a lot and has a image of LAG like to play pots but has the best post flop play and general winner overall in the game

I'm in the BB stack (1900) , V is UTG stack (1800) and the straddle is on so folded around to button who calls €4 I raise to €12 and have QQ, V re raises to €50 button calls I 3 bet to €175 V tanks for 10secs and calls button folds. Also an A was exposed during the dealing

Flop = Jh8h3x (400)

I decide to bet €150. In my mind I'm thinking he can have 1010,AKhh, KK, JJ maybe AQ. He decides to tank 30secs and raises to €385
I tank for a minute and call.

Turn= 7x (1160)

I check and he bets €500 quickly. I've €1200ish behind at this point. I tank for a while and then fold reluctantly.

Would ye if played this differently? This hand has really annoyed me and I'll explain in the comments in a while. Thanks ☺

I think you have to fold. You're way behind his range even before he bets the turn for €500. His 3bet preflop narrows his range and his tank call of your 4bet is more likely KK or AA than TT, since TT has an easy call to set-mine this deep, but those other hands are considering whether to reraise. Then the jack on the flop really buries you. JJ was one of the hands that you were beating that he might play this way preflop.

Was the exposed ace the ace of hearts? If so, then I think you can feel even more comfortable about the fold, since he has fewer semi-bluffs in his range. But either way, it's a fold.

This will sound really nitty, but against some villains, I honestly think you can find a check/fold on the flop. In the 1/3 games I play, most villain's range here to 3bet this size and call a 4bet is JJ+. Queens are in bad shape after that action with a jack on the flop. If he's the type to 3bet AK to $50 here, then obviously that doesn't apply.

Finally, I would consider a slightly bigger bet on the flop. The only thing that concerns me here is that a good villain might see the €150 c-bet as weakness and float with his AK hands. I prefer €225.

Making a good fold never feels as good as making a good call, because you lose money and you can never be sure that you folded correctly. But I think you should pat yourself on the back here. You saved yourself a thousand euro with this fold. Go buy yourself a pint and toast to the fact that your country isn't run by an orange-colored narcissist with his head in his ass.

I think this is just one of those spots when you're 900 bb deep you can't do anything but fold.
