If you're really this emotional, poker may not be the best thing for you.

Yeah don't raise suited connector-type hands early, esp when you are short (you only have a small chance of hitting some kind of draw, and when you miss completely you have to give up the hand). it forces you into situations like this. But as played you had no choice, played fine, just a cooler/setup hand.

You hit your flush and still lost? Cooler after you see flop, because your never folding top pair with a gut shot straight and good flush draw with a shortish stack. Getting it in on flop was the way to go. Flop bet should have been around $30. Shoving into crowd is a bit too aggressive but with a stack only twice the pot not too bad here.

Raising pre was a big mistake though, QTs is going to flop just well enough to get you in a lot of trouble way too often. Preflop sizing from EP depends more on table conditions then your hand strength, you want to bet whatever it takes to get down to 1 caller on average. Once you figure out what that number is then figure out what range you can play profitably. QTs is never going to be in that range.

I believe you're looking for the "Beats, Brags & Variance" forum.

If you really want advice... Limp PF. I mean, folding is the right play, but let's be honest... you're not folding QTcc PF. You just lost a big hand and you're tilted.

Limp and reduce the amount of damage. Never raise a hand this weak from UTG.

WTF is this non-sense? So we aren't raising but we are limp calling? Why not just raise and take the initiative?

NEVER RAISE A HAND THIS WEAK FROM UTG!!!!!!

That's just awful advice.

Because it's more than likely that you'll see a cheap flop for $2. People don't raise that often PF.

Raising to $7 accomplishes nothing other than taking initiative. We're stealing the blinds like 1% of the time. So now we're building a pot out of position.

Since raising and limping are both -EV plays, why not take the lower variance route of limping? I don't see how raising to $7 loses us less money than limping for $2 at a table that is probably just going to limp along behind us.

We arent raising early to steal the blinds or to "build a pot"...

The kind of play you are looking to make with raising a suited connector hands like yours requires you to be in position, and effective stack deeper.

This advice. "Pot builder bets" if you will should be done with speculative hands when you have position and with a good amount of limpers (so a waterfall effect of calling happens)

Obv keep you stack topped off to play correctly.
