Hi All,

Would like some opinions on the following hand. I had been at the table about an hour and my read on villain was that he was tight. Didn't play many hands during the hour. Only hand i remembee prior to my hand is villain all in pre flop where he was down to $50.

Ok, the hand in question villain raised from EP to $20. This was a strong raise for the table I was at with a lot of limpets and very little calls on preflop raises. I called with A10. And was heads up with villain. It's worth noting villain seemed to bet preflop relatively quickly. He has $60 left after the raise and I have $100 left. Flop is 10 5 3 rainbow and he immediately ships all in. Here's where I need your help! It seemed to me that villain either had predetermined he was going all in on the flop or he saw no scare cards and bet me all in with an overpair. Villain started chatting with guy next to him but would occasionally glance at the pot. Villain had been somewhat chatty before and I saw no change in this behavior except that he was keen to see what I would do...

So.. Question is what would you have done? I put villain on QQ, KK,AA based on tight play, preflop raise and all in

Him raising 25% of his stack pre he's more than likely check jamming w ATC and if your not 3b shoving him pre you have to know stack is basically in play on flop. Call, caulk up to variance, move on.

This is a fold pre flop. The large raise pre from a real tight player usually indicates a hand he wants to protect. This is an over pair a majority of the time. You caught the ten but are most likely beat. So its also a fold post flop.

Fold pre. I think you have to call on the flop. This is almost the best flop you could ask for . If you fold now what was the point of calling the preflop raise?

fold pre. with given stack sizes you can't call profitably. if you think you're ahead of his range pre, 3bet. however, if you see a relatively big raise on a very passive table from a short stack, you'll be behind most of the time, so just fold.

as played... otf: would he shove only his overpairs or his complete pre raising range?

if you assume he's raising 77+/AK, and shoving all his hands, you're 3:2 against that range so call now. if he's only shoving JJ+ from that range, you're 1:4 so fold.

if he's only raising JJ+/AK which is as nitty as you can get, and shoving any flop you're a bit better than 2:3 against that range, so it's still a call (although almost neutral call/fold).

as you see, the main question is his preflop raising range and how he'd proceed with various parts of it on the given flop. you were playing with him for quite a while, so you should have a better perception of his tendencies than all of us here.
