Playing at my standard 1/2 home game, we are playing 5-handed and decently late in the night.
Reads:
V1 ($550): Pretty good reg, likes to be overly aggressive and has made some light calls in the past, but still pretty solid overall
V2 ($330): Another good player, also on the aggressive side and likes to bluff too much.
OTTH:
Hero raises Q
Q
UTG to $10, V1 on the BTN calls, SB calls, V2 in the BB calls.
Flop: A
J
7
Pot = $40
Checks through
Turn: 4
Pot = $40
Checks to V2, bets $25, V1 calls, Hero calls, (SB folds)
River: Q
Pot = $115
V1 leads for $70, Hero raises to $220.
Analysis:
Preflop: Seems standard
Flop: Seems like a good check/call hand, not upset that it checks through.
Turn: Might be spewy, should I just fold? I guess calling isn't awful but I don't really know what to do
River: I've raised in these spots as bluffs before, so I was thinking that I need to go thinner for value as well. I obviously value-owning myself against a hand like KsTx or KxTs but that's only a few combos. I would expect him to raise/bet a baby flush on the turn, so really all he can have that beats me is decently nutted flushes (some of which 3-bet river), and the broadway straight. I would expect that he calls with all lower sets, stronger two pairs, and maybe a light call with the Ks in his hand.
I don't know, maybe this is too loose. I also still have V2 behind me, which isn't amazing. What do you guys think?
