Playing a $1/2 game at the Mirage. I've been at the table a couple hours without being involved in many hands. V1 is an aggressive middle aged female player in the BB. V2 is an aggressive middle aged female player on the button. Not sure how I got mixed up with two aggressive middle aged ladies, but some guys would kill for the opportunity outside of a poker context.

Hero has ~$220. Villains both cover.

Pre-flop:
  • One player limps.
  • Hero limps with 67
  • V2 raises to $7 on the button.
  • V1 calls.
  • Limper folds.
  • Hero calls.

Flop (pot: ~$22 after rake): 578
  • V1 checks.
  • Hero bets $15.
  • V2 calls.
  • V1 calls.

Turn (pot ~74 after rake): 5784
  • V1 checks.
  • Hero bets $80.
  • V2 calls.
  • V1 folds.

River (pot ~$234 after rake): 57844
  • Hero goes all-in for $120.

Thoughts and critiques?

What position is Hero in? I'm not a huge fan of PF, would either fold or raise the first time around depending on my position and reads on the limper and players behind.

Flop donk is a bit odd as well, I'd probably go for a c/c (or c/r if we thought V2 was capable of folding an overpair to aggression). Turn is slightly too large but I do like betting on the bigger side on a wet board. River is standard, we would likely have heard from a set earlier in the hand and there are probably far more overpairs than sets in V2's PF raising range anyway.

Pre flop is fine to me.

Not a fan of the flop lead, turns your hand face up, and I'd probably opt for a c/r with aggressive opponents.

Turn and River are fine to me if pf and flop are played that way.

PF is not fine. We don't know what position hero is in and we have an agro BN which means there's a good chance we get raised pre and have to play 7-high oop if we make a bad call. Id raise if I knew BN and blinds were tight and I could either buy the BN or steal the blinds...or win easily post flop. But we have an agro BN AND BB so that's not likely.

I don't mind the flop lead. I don't think it turns your hand face up. You could have a FD, 2P, set or any value hand you want to bet for fear that BN checks back AK type hands on this wet flop (assuming you play this way, which you should if you're leading out here). I like c/r too, but less so with the FD out there. But if we bet, BN raises and we shove, it has a nice rhythm to it.

Turn bet is a bit too big but I don't mind it if you know villains will call with 2P or FDs.

River is standard. I don't see how either agro villain has a set after the flop.

Fair question. Hero was two off the button at a nine-handed table.

My justification for limping was that I would either see a cheap flop with a drawing hand at a table with aggressive bettors or fold to a large pre-flop raise while only losing BB money. The small raise came in, so putting $5 more into a ~$17 pot felt alright. Too loose pre?

Whether the flop bet is good or not is debatable, but it certainly doesnt turn his hand face up. Hero could have a huge range here from 99, to a set, to a flush draw, a pair and draw, to 98 to a bunch of other hands.

Pre: what position are you in? I'm not a fan of limping this UTG+1 or 2 but HJ/CO it's fine, though a raise would probably be better to iso the limper. AP, call is fine after the raise because it's so small.

Flop: don't like the donk bet. I'm happy taking a free card with MPNK+OESD+BDFD, plus we'll get to see what both Vs do before we act if we check and BTN bets

Turn: I would have sized it smaller, but you got a call, so can't really complain about.

River: standard given SPR and your hand
