$1/2 (last hand of the night)
This game has been running for 3 hours +,
BB ($250) is known to be new player, couldn't fold AA on big pots
UTG ($500) is quite limpy preflop, raise to ~$8 -14 but play decent on postflop
CO ($200) is tight player, played big all in river pots with him few times, and he can manage find a fold
BTN ($200) is loose fish, donk bet to preflop raiser many times.

I was on SB with 68s, CO raised to $10, 5 ways to the flop. I had 68ss decent hand to 3b with, but i opted to call.

Flop ($50): Ad5s9s, I had OESFD
I led out $35, UTG called, the rest folded.
I put him on maybe K9, 9T, AXo, unlikely flush draw cause he will raise it preflop.

Turn: ($120): Ac
I decided to bet $60, reason was I wanted to fold out 9x combo, and also if he had something like Qxss he was getting not a good price to call cause the board has paired. At this point, villian verbalized something like: ''u have an ace...?'' It triggered suspiciously in my mind.

River: ($240): 3s
By betting $125, I wanted to get called from hands like A9o, AT...and villian announced all-in QUICKLY, i slowly revealed my hole cards one by one to the table, suffling my chips & tank... villian looked down and acted uncomfortable. Plus, i was +$570, if i make this fold, I only lose ~$250 ish tonight. So I folded, villian show me A7o, and told me it was a good fold.

Question:
(a) Is it mandatory to 3b with suited connectors in SB&BN applying pressure to the CO. I felt like if i 3b something like $35, the hand sure ended, and i save this $250 to be burned.
(b) Should I c/c or c/f this river? Turn & river sizing good? If i check, villian might bet something like $150, and i have tough time folding this, or maybe i am psychic enough to c/f this.

Thoughts

Good Lord people sure do click some buttons in live poker don't they. Wtf is he raising river.

Your hand is fine aside from your call pre (bad) and your turn bet (meh). Def lead river and fold to jam, tho I'm not sure of your stack size.

Don't make decisions based on being up or down (hard I know)

FWIW I see these weird merge bets alot in live poker where people have no clue what to do on a nut changing card so they just go full ham. But most of the time you see the nizzles here vs. a river raise.

I had around 442. I thought 3 betting against the opener and just end the hand. Would u advocate calling more towards 3betting with suited connectors

It's mostly a fold preflop. Big raise and not particularly deep stacks makes the drawing hands play badly OOP. Against some villains you can bluff 3 bet occasionally but not often.

Flop bet is OK but I wouldn't always bet this board, somebody probably has an ace. The turn bet is bad against a villain who almost always has an ace when he calls flop. Villain's river jam is silly but without a good read on villain I'm folding, expect to run into A9/99/better flush a lot.

I got this far and had to stop to say this, with 86s in the small blind, this is a fold 90% of the time for me and a 3b 10% of the time. There are few absolutes in poker, but this might be one of them. I never flat this.

That said, I'll read the rest of the hand and offer any other insight if I have it.
