Villain (BB): mid 20s white guy, TAG ($250)
Hero (CO): late 20s Asian guy, TAG image (covers)

Hero opens $8 in the CO with A6. Only villain calls in the BB.

Flop: JT4 ($16)

Checked through.

Turn: Q ($16)

Villain bets $10. Hero raises to $35. Villain calls.

River: 5 ($82)

Villain leads $75. Hero ???

Villain's line makes zero sense. He would probably 3 bet JJ+, AK and maybe TT. He would most likely not call my turn raise on a super wet turn then lead pot on the river with a strong hand. He would probably 3 bet the turn. A hand like AQ (which might be 3 bet pre), KQ, AJ would likely play passively on the river hoping for a free showdown. That leaves...bluffs. I can beat some bluffs but lose to pair plus draw. So...shove?

In case anyone is wondering why I raised the turn, his sizing is weak and unlikely to be a stronger hand than KQ. Also this board is a million times better for my range than his.

I’m betting flop as a default here but I can see why you would want to mix in some checks here on this texture with your A high hands.

As played some random thoughts:

While jamming is a reasonable representation of AK, we rep thinner after checking flop. We are pretty much repping exclusively AK at this point.

Obviously better not to have diamonds when we bluff here and not sure our A blocker to the nuts is too relevant, probably better to have a 9 or a K.

We are jamming ~200 to win ~150 so we need this to work ~57%

I mostly agree with you about villain’s line but I don’t try to get too much into the head of randoms in these spots.

Jamming wouldn’t be my default line here but it seems reasonable.

Flop check is std, we have SDV and we can keep ranges wide/induce bluffs that have low equity vs us. Bad board for our range and we are gettingg raised a decent amount

Ott i like the raise we def play a lot of AK this way, and we have so much equity.

Otr just fold

I would probably have c-bet flop, check back turn if he checks it. As played, I would have called the turn bet. As played, fold river.

What do you guys think he takes this line with though? He's sooooo capped and should be checking everything on the river cause my range absolutely crushes his.

I think there are some random two pairs/55 and a straight here from time to time. Without much knowledge, I feel like the "wait for safe river, next card" then bet for value is apparent at the low stakes.

I like your check to mix in and like the raise on the turn. Maybe more on turn? As played I feel like it's an auto fold on the river. If you're deeper then you can toy with bombing the river.
