Hole cards:
Q T

UTG ($60)
CO ($40)
SB ($100)
BB ($60)

Preflop($3)
UTG limps, CO limps, Hero completes, BB raises to $6, UTG folds, CO folds, Hero calls $4.

Flop ($16)
J:: 5 3
BB bets $14, Hero shoves all in.

BB sat down about half an hour ago and had seemed pretty bad. I can't remember what type of player I just remember making a mental note that he was bad. My thought process is basically if he doesn't have QQ+ my shove is cannot be -EV and he might be cbetting with lower pps or ace highs that he could fold.

What is the question? He has a PSB behind, and you have 1 over and a flush draw. It doesn't really matter if you shove here or not, 80%+ of the time, the money is going in. He has to be very bad for you to have much FE here.

BTW, make better mental notes. "Bad" is pretty useless when specific situations arise.

Well now that I think about it there really is no question here. I guess I just posted this because he called with AK, held up, and then the whole table started berating me for my reckless play and saying **** like "omg this kid shoved all in WITH JUST A DRAW!" while giving the AK guy mad props for making the correct call (even though he's actually ****ing behind).

So after his bet, he has $40 left.

Its $14 to you for a $30 pot. I dont think a shove is bad at all, will fold out a few hands you are behind (unlikely if he is a station and/or in love with his hand). Only hand you HATE to be up against is the NFD.

If you flat its a $44 dollar pot with $40 stacks, and if he shoves you might not love to call with only 1 card to come...

66+,A2s+,K5s+,Q9s+,JTs,T9s,A2o+,K7o+,Q9o+,J9o+

If this is his range (its wide, 32% of hands)

You are a favorite on the flop (52% to win)

If the turn bricks, say 2s, you become a 2:1 dog (37% to win). Which is actually still good enough odds to flat the flop and call a turn shove of $40 into $84. So the range is rough, but you cant really make a mistake as long as you dont fold.

The only benefit is if you only call the flop,

he checks the turn, you can either

1. get a free river and save the last $40 if you dont hit
2. Bet him off the best hand on the turn while you still have enough equity if called.

That, btw, is part of the reason not to post a ton of hands in a row. Post the best, and write the others down. If, after a day, they still feel "not standard," post them, too.

Who cares what the table says, the table wants to play limp in and bet with top pair, only! Then fold if someone bets and you don't have top pair.

The move was good but he really isn't deep, so he ends up calling $40 to win $70 and if he put you on the flush draw it is a easy call, but I think he just figured he was going to catch and the donk move worked out for him.
