Hero has been at the table for about 3 hours on a Friday afternoon. Table has pretty good action with several deep players ($600-1400).

Main villain in this hand has been fairly active - asian in his 30's, likes to open raise to $12 pf regardless of # of limpers.

In a previous hand vs hero's QQ, he re-raised hero's $15 pf raise to $45 from sb and told hero to "fold". Hero called, V bets out $60 on a AKx flop, hero folded.

In another hand, he shoved for ~$100 in a multiway pot on a J84K turn on a backdoor flush draw with J7 , got called in one spot and won the showdown with a pair of J.

On to the hand...

Hero (~$450) has QQ utg+1 and raises to $15 pf. 5 other callers in the hand including the V (~$240) who is on the button.

Flop: ($90) J84
Hero bets out $60, only V calls.

Turn: ($210) 6
Hero ?
V has about $160 left.

Well, shoving should be profitable. Even if he's got the flush 50% of the time and folds perfectly (i.e. he'll fold AJ), EV of a shove is +$25.

The question is, is checking more profitable. We have reason to think he'd bet J-X or perhaps turn 9 10 or Q10 into a bluff. I think I like check/raising all in.

Don't over think it imo, shove for value.

Shove is ok here. Villan didn't have the right odds to call your flop bet if he's chasing a flush on flop but at 1/2 he may not think about that.

Well if you're shoving even on heart turns, then otf V had about 370:60 implied odds and can call with a heart draw very profitably.

If V will find a fold with Jx here, then it's awkward. We really just own ourselves when we shove and let heart draws see a free river when we check. Conceptually, it means V is good, he has position on us, it's difficult if not impossible for us to have a high EV play here. I'd consider a few things in that case: checking, betting the minimum that gives V wrong direct odds to chase a fd which is ~$75 and calling ai if he shoves, betting the maximum that V won't see as a leverage bet but calling ai if he shoves.

If he's not folding Jx ever though, I'd just shove.
