Reads: Late 20s or so black guy, drinking a little but definitely not drunk (at least not yet). Limps quite a bit pre flop. Has been pretty solid post flop. He has been fairly aggro postflop, but has shown down good hands at showdown. Rivered two flushes recently.
Immediate history: About 3 orbits ago I raised him from the SB (he was BB) with Jacks after it folded to me. Flop came K 10 10 rainbow. Check/check. Turn was a blank, I bet small he made a fairly large raise and I folded.
I probably have a tight image due to folding so much pre flop, and villain has commented on this. I've been card dead.
Onto the hand. I open to $13 9 handed with Q
Q
. Villain flats next to me as does the button. $42 in the pot, $125 effective. Flop comes 9
8
3
. I bet $25 and villain instantly makes it $70.
Now I'll start the discussion. One thing I've learned is you should be much more ready/willing to commit in this same situation if I had raised from, say, the cutoff and villain was on the button. Now my perceived range is wider, so villain's raising range will be wider. But when I open to $13 from UTG, he's probably putting me on a very narrow range of AK and big pairs.
Is JJ or 1010 still in his range here? Still profitable to commit?
