Hi 2+2 thanks for all the great advise!

Since I typically don’t play against the same players and so have a very small sample size against Vs, was wondering:

Are younger players even at low stakes now adjusting and playing back?
What does a check raise mean nowadays live from these players?

1/2 Large Casino weekend afternoon.

Table is generally playing tight/positionally unaware in response to preflop raises, but most pots are going multi-way /limped around. Postflop play is fit-fold.

Hero has been abusing BU and CO and has worked 100% of the time over the last couple of hours (raise pre 1-2 callers, bet flop, take it down). H has not gone to show down since V sat down.

V is young with hoodie hasn’t done anything out of line, active preflop (will open but also with limp/call a lot), few showdowns.

$300 Effective:

Hero has QdQh

Limped to H Raises $15

V calls in the HJ

Pot ~$30

Flop:

5c 9s 3s

V checks, H bets $ 20

V 3 bets to $55

H ?

Next question, if we do call what do we do on a non spade turn and he fires away?

Thanks for replies!

Flat and call bets on non spade turn cards.

Welcome to the forum. Make sure you stick around and participate.

Ordinarily 1/2 players don't play back at people. That said, if you're raising much of the time in the CO and BTN for hours, even 1/2 players get tired of it and fight back. I'd call and see a turn.

thanks guys! venice, big fan, learned a lot from your posts!

calling assumes V is on a spade draw, we have no evidence he plays draws this way. Then, I'm assuming youngsters with hoodies are doing this often enough for 2/3 replies to suggest we call.

raising potentially folds out draws we want to keep in, but also could get value from them (although most will fold against a large bet) as well as lower pockets and oddly played flopped TPXK.

I was thinking folding is best as we have little info on V and didn't invest much in the pot with TP. Wondering how this logic is flawed?

thanks again!
