V is very aggressive and very LAGgy young WM. Have been playing with him about 2 hours. Have seen him raise 50% or more when opening, Has no issues barreling all the way to the river. He very, very seldom folds preflop. Have seen him show down 74 to win a flush, Raise preflop, bet all the way to the river and show A3o to which gave him a pair of 3s. Raise preflop with J9o and bet all the way to the river on a QJ437 board to lose to AJ. He started with $200, goes up to around $500 and then will regress backwards, At the time this hand came up, he has around $350.

Hero ($215) is WM in middle 60s and would be seen as a little on the weak/tight side.

Please critic all streets.

Hero in SB with QQ

Four limpers, V limps from button, which is unusual, he usually raises, but when not raising he is limping. Hero raises to $20, all fold to V who calls.

Flop: (pot $50). J98

I know this guy loves to bet, but this board is sopping wet, and a check through would be a disaster. Just bet pot, and snap GII if raised.

Raise more preflop. With $13 in the pot already and being OOP against a crowd go for $30. Possibly more if the table likes to call raises.

As played bet $40/$50 on flop and call a raise or shove turn. Not a happy situation but with with an SPR < 4 and a super wet flop your just going broke if villain hit this. On the plus side a loose aggro villain limping in this situation is likely to have a low pair or a weak drawing hand and most of those miss this flop entirely.

I'm x/calling Flop, x/gii ott. Unless you think he's likely to pay you off with worse, which it seems like he makes more betting mistakes than calling mistakes based off of your description. I don't think a check through is a disaster since he'll bet with all the hands that have a good amount of outs and we have the Qd and a gutshot.

Standard line is to bet ~pot OTF.

Another possible line:

Bet small to induce a raise (not sure if this applies to this player or not).

As above, raise bigger pre, bet $50 on flop, gii if raised, shove turn depending on card and reads.

The problem with a check (apart from it checking through) is V betting too small. You'll obviously be inclined to then raise him but that's a big warning for all his dominated pairs and he might get away from them and you'll isolate yourself vs the top of his range. The alternative is you let him set the price for his draws ($0 if he wants).

If you just bet pot he'll have a hard time folding any hand that connected with the flop and then you gii on turn (depending on turn card and reads) when he will feel more committed but has less chance of out drawing you.
