This is a 1/2 game that has had players quit and we are now playing 5 handed from initial 9. Hero has never played with this Villain before, who has joined the table about 30 minutes ago. Hero has seen this Villain playing in bigger cash games regularly and villain confirms this by saying he is waiting on a bigger table.

Since Villain has joined the table he has been relentlessly aggressive pre-flop and post flop. Raising to $15 about 75% of his hands pre-flop and barreling with ease. Only seems to check in SB and BB and raises the rest. Gives off an ultra aggro LAG vibe, and Hero has seen him tangle with a bigger stack running a 3-barell bluff twice. Got caught twice and paid off once.

Hero has been mostly folding, and folded to all of Villains pre-flop raises when Hero was in the blinds. Hero should appear to Villain to have a tight starting hand "range" and be somewhat on the cautious/conservative side.

On to the hand.

Hero is dealt QJ in the CO and raises over one limper to $10/$230.
BTN folds. SB Calls, and Villain in BB also call. Limper calls.

Flop (40): J24

Checked to Hero who bets $25. SB Folds. Villain in BB flats / $210. Limper folds.

Turn (90): 3

Villain in BB checks. Hero bets $55. Villain calls.

River (200): A

Villain pauses and shoves for $130.
Hero (has 140 left) ?

Thanks for any comments.

What combos of kx h do you beat here? Like k10 only... I think this is prob a fold unless the guy bluffs relentlessly, With a single med to low heart...

Think about combos you beat and there are more Axh etc in his range and str with a h than stuff u beat...

If he bluffed u good for him, but i think a fold is ok here generally..

Yeah I'm folding as played.

Betting bigger on the flop and turn make the river easier to deal with. Since he doesn't mind putting chips in the middle, charge him everything you can while you're ahead. Which I think is safe to say you were, until the river.

Unfortunate board texture, you may be folding the best hand but there are way too many hands in his range that you lose to. Fold and wait for a better spot. No need to commit the rest of your chips with second pair medium kicker.

I can find a Fold here, our hand was never very strong on this board.

Turn check, keeps the pot under control and we can call a reasonable up to Pot sized River bet against aggro's

Fine both pre and on the flop. I don't like the turn bet. Villain likely check/calls with a flush draw or made flush on monochrome flops. Check the turn and evaluate river. We might be drawing dead at this point. Hero shouldn't be committed to getting his stack in, so check the turn to pot control.

As played, fold river. Villain might have a flush or check/called with Ah and hit top pair.

If he's raising to $15 pre, I go at least that high with a limper. Flop and turn OK. River is an easy fold.

Some thought provoking (for me) posts in here, so thanks. Especially about the turn play and the optimal line vs this player. I am still torn between betting and checking as believe I can get value OTT but at the same time, It might be a good spot to pot control and then c/c OTR vs agrros. Hmmm.

Spoiler:
In game, I tanked for some time OTR and obv called :-). Mainly my thinking was based off of my read that this player would tend to exploit my image and was fairly certain that he would make this play a high percentage of time regardless of his actual hand. Maybe my ego had a say in here too. V had J5o, no

Thanks for the comments.

Pre is fine. I actually prefer smaller bets on the flop and turn because our hand really isn't all that strong here (still betting for value/protection).

River is a fold. A lot of players play a flopped flush like this. Some may even play AhXx like this.

As played, I'm finding a fold here 80% of time

I would've bombed my bet/fold the flop (around pot-sized, 50$), after he calls I'm giving up and checking it down, folding to any aggression
