BTN’s last hand.... guy plays like a donk at 5/5 usually... he’s ready to rack up a winning session and leave..

Hero... super tight image in the half hour he’s been here.. seen as a reg winner... first hand I’m playing...

1/2/4, UTG1 nit (185) limps, Hero (500, MP) raises 20 with QJss, BTN (700) calls, BB and straddler call.

Flop (100): QQJhhs
Checks around

Turn (100): 6h
3 checks, Hero bets 35, BTN calls, UTG1 minraises to 70, Hero and BTN call

River (310): 6x
UTG1 shoves 95, Hero shoves 410, BTN goes all crazy and finally folds AQo face up

UTG1 shows 66 for the scoop

Did I do anything wrong in this hand? People saying “I should bet flop” are results oriented IMO. How does BTN fold?

Bet flop to build pot vs Qx, Jx, a million draws

Wtf does checking accomplish? Maybe if btn is super aggro post it can begin making sense

I could see a slow play if we're up against say 1 or 2, but this is 5 way. Bet a 1/3 pot. You're going to get called by Js, draws, and maybe even lower PPs, as well as raised by Qs.

BTN folded because it's a $1/$2 game and it's $410 to him and the best he can do is chop and he's about to leave the game a winner.

Snap bet flop, checking is beyond bad no offense.... There are a gazillion draws out there and Jx is never folding to one bet esp when the Q is paired, they'll think you're less likely to have one and people hate folding. I wouldn't even be surprised to see 22-1010 call at all. It's not results oriented to say bet flop. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw your board/hand and the fact that it went 4/5 way was to bet to get value. It's not rocket science.

River is whatever, you coolered yourself

Usually I would say when you flop a boat to check it back and hope some has something to contuine on the turn but this flop people are going to have a piece of so may as well charge them.
As other have mentioned a 1/3 PSB will get called a lot here by a lot of hands. Even If they all fold you were probably never getting action on the turn.
As for the shove on the river it is just so big that villian can get away from easily, If you had build the pot up from the start, villian is a lot more likely to call you off as the pot will be bigger and your bet on the river being trival to call.

There are two sixes on the turn and we've seen our hand and the flop, means there are 47 cards we've not seen.

A six comes on the turn.

Now there is one six left among the remaining 46 cards.

2/47 * 1/46 =.00185 probability of losing this hand via runner runner quads to any given pocket pair.

.99815 that our hand will survive quads.

About once in 539 times we flop a boat, this will happen to us.

What about if someone has AA or KK and we give them two free cards to make a higher boat? Now they have 2 outs twice or approximately 8% chance, that's a lot higher. (But still around 92 to 8 or around 11 or 12 to one if you wanted to calculate rather than estimate.)

Pick a gamble you can afford, but I'd rather make pocket pairs pay to cooler me than gift them free shots at my flopped boat. If they don't have anything they are not calling but they won't beat us (unless a naked A turns and rivers AA and gets us for free that way...)

If they have something maybe they will call, IMO we should be betting for value, it's not that often we flop a boat.

Bad luck on the cooler. You were correct to jam the river and it was extremely unfortunate that someone managed to get away from Qx on a QQJ66 board (I expect to get paid here 95% of the time).

Results aside, you should bet flop to try to get value off straight draws, flush draws, Jx and Qx hands. Something like $40 here is good.
