Hero is on the button with a stack of $182 with a loosing image. Made a bad call within the last orbit with QQ on a K99xx. Reloaded $100 to my stack i have now.

Villain is brand new to the table but seems to be a somewhat gambling type, unsure though he has already doubled up with JJ floping top set.

-THE HAND-

EP limps $2, Villain limps $2 folds to hero OTB with A 9 raises to $12, blinds fold, EP folds, Villain calls $10.

-FLOP- ($27 in pot after rake)

K 7 5

Villain checks, hero bets $12, Villain then raises to $35.....

-This is the first real decision.. a board like this with can either decide to re-raise on the flop to get it in, or you can call and play a turn in position. I decided that I should do the latter.

Hero calls $23.

-TURN- ($94 in pot after rake)

9

Villain overbet shoves the turn for my effective stack of $135.

We are getting 2.7-1 with a call with a hand that likely only has around 20-30 percent equity, unless he could be shoving naked straight + flush draws......

Shove looks good vs a gambling type that will call often with an assortment of draws, hero some pairs, fold sometimes.

AP I very much like your sizing on the flop (ck is ok too) but don't like the flat once you bet, it makes the turn difficult. Once the SD completes the turn, it might be a fold.

Only you know if he will be shoving lighter than your hand.

As played, by just calling the flop, you set yourself up to fold here. You aren't getting the right price.

Fold.

How would I play this if I had $40 less to put me at a pot sized bet on the turn? If that were the case would it be better to Jam the flop with a smaller SPR
