Live 1/2 game.
  • Villain 1: Good LAG player. At one point, he seemed willing to make moves on me in particular, but that's probably over an hour in the past. Approx. $450.
  • Villain 2: Loose and Passive player. Approx. $200.
  • Villain 3: Absolutely hammered 30 year old. Loose and passive. Approx. $200 and in SB.
  • Hero: Late 20s tight player. Haven't shown much aggression during time at the table. Approx. $230 and in BB.

7 calls to Hero in BB with KK. Hero raises to $15. The above players call. All others fold.

Flop: AJJ (~$65 after rake)
Checks around.

Turn: 9 (~$65)
Hero bets $30. V1 calls. V2 and V3 fold.

River: 7 (~125)
Hero bets $75.

Thoughts on all streets? I am particularly interested in opinions on the turn and river.

IŽd be inclined to check the turn and let the LAG bet for me. But, betting canŽt be bad with those other clowns in the hand.

River bet is bad. I think we only get called by better. Also, a LAG, is an ideal candidate for the ol' ''check to induce a bluff'' line.

Perhaps you should be raising to more than $15 pre given the number of limpers, deepish stacks, being OOP, drunk dudes at the table. Will assume this was the most you could raise while being pretty certain of getting action.

Bet way bigger pre, like 25. Seeing a flop 4-way is a nightmare for our hands.

As played, I hate the river bet. It doesn't likely fold allot of better hands, and it's unlikely to be called by worse.

I kinda like your line. The only issue I see is to raise more pre. $25 should do it.

Hopefully your river bet will get called by a medium PP. If he raises your $75 bet I am insta folding.

Thanks for all the thoughts. I'm always squeamish about raising too large pre-flop, but it's good to hear that seems to be the consensus. I need to work on that part of my game.

For any who are interested in the results:

Spoiler:
After hero bet $75 on the river, V1 pondered for about 60 seconds before folding.

I cashed out about 30 minutes later. The villain asked me what I had, so I told him honestly that I had kings. He told me he had Ax4x, so assuming he was honest, the bet caused him to fold a small ace.

I wouldn't have expected him to fold an ace. NH Sir.
