I agree with raising the turn, though you wouldn't be doing it to protect your hand. A min-raise would be a bit better on the turn to extract value from worse K hands. J on the river is a problem card so a c/c is fine, but you can even lead out on the river and then fold if there is a big raise.

C/r the flop for value is a line to consider. Depends how sticky the V is.

I would c/f the river though.

He said , he was looking to flop big, I assume 2 pair or better. Calling here is fine and make a decision after the turn?

Everyone stop turning decent showdown hands into bluffs when we only expect one hand to fold and that only maybe.

Just curious, but this seems like a pretty typical spot. There's a really dry flop and 90% of the deck is effectively a blank for turn and river. Why are so many people advocating a c/c on flop and turn and then a c/f river? Villains I play against will almost always 3-barrel their hands, and it's tough to narrow down their holdings based on future action. In this case they didn't 3-barrel and the results were right, but I almost always feel like on the flop we need to decide if the hand is worth calling 3-barrels, and if not, just c/f the flop even though we will be folding the best hand a decent portion of the time. Is c/c TPGK on the flop with the intention of c/f later streets even though the board blanks out really a +EV move? I guess the question is do we expect villains to only 3-barrel better hands, and the profit from the times they give up with weaker hands make up for the time we pay off flop and turn bets makes up for it?

Villain is not the preflop raiser, FWIW.

C/R flop is really bad. For 1, she is repping a hand that likely beats us. For 2, we have two villains behind us to act which could have us beat. For 3, we are essentially just bloating a pot out of position when we have no clue whether we have the best hand or not.
