History: This is Hero's fourth hand at the table.

On the very first hand Hero was on the button and dealt two black Kings. In that hand UTG limped, UTG+1 raised to $6, the CO called $6, Hero raised to $30 with KK, UTG+1 shoved for $15 more, hero called, UTG+1 showed AQ and didn't improve, Hero wins.

Two hands later Hero picks up KK and after four limpers raises to $25, they all fold, Hero shows.

So now it's the very next hand:

THE HAND

A few players limp for $2, Hero has QQ and raises to $25. The guy hero stacked in his first hand is the only caller from the blinds.

Stacks: Villian: $125 to start the hand
Hero: Covers comfortably

Flop: 24T
Villian: checks
Hero: bets $40
Villian: calls $40
Turn: Q
Villian checks
Hero shoves
Villian calls $60 all-in

I'm getting back into the NL game and wanted to see how my bet sizing is here, thanks!

Hand #1 is ok, .... but I may have only raised enough so that I could 4-bet if UTG+1 shoved and CO flat called. Not sure on the math, but if you had raised to $24 ($18 raise) he would've had $21 behind and then you could raise again. I always watch for these spots to keep my options open.

Hand #2 ... An opening raise to $25 at 1-2 is pretty big even with a bunch of limpers. I don't like to raise more than 'pot' unless I know that I 'need' that size to get HU. So a bet of $17-21 is good here IMO.

Hand #3 ... Looks fine based on your 'pattern'. This actually worked out better for you since the more you raise 'big' the less likely they believe you, but $20 would've been fine here as well. Bet sizing here is fine .. not sure why V though you would fold the Turn, but he should be committed to the pot once he calls the Flop bet and should've donked the Turn IMO.

Certainly some big holdings that needed protection PF and you not knowing the table don't want to go too small, but anything over $20 at most 1-2 tables will get very little action IMO. Each table will have a different dynamic and you want to 'max' bet each spot based on what's going on.

Although it's recommended you don't show ... ever ... The fact that you did show the 2nd KK hand could get you some callers down the road. That could be good or bad depending on your run of cards. Not knowing how the 3rd hand ended up hopefully you were able to have a nice session with this fine start ... or just left (as we all should sometimes in 'these' spots). GL

Never show your cards. Poker is a game of information and you are voluntarily giving up one of, if not the, most important pieces.

I can't agree with this more. I make them pay to see my hand, and I absolutely love when they voluntarily show theirs.

25 seems way too big pre. Go 3 or 4bb +1 bb for every limper. So 3 limper make it 12-16 range pre

Villian was slowplaying A9 and river pairs the Ten, Hero wins and stacks villain a 2nd time.

Also this.

As it stands, I imagine you are raising your premiums to $25 like here, and if you are raising other hands, you are probably doing small raises like $8-$12 which telegraphs your hand strength.

If you make it a habit to raise *ALL* of your hands (AA, 55, JTs) to X# of BB's + 1 BB per limper you will go a long way to disguising your starting hand strength to perceptive players.

Even though most aren't paying attention, it's still a good habit to get into.

25 pre is too much most of the time. Besides that all good

I think your raise sizing is too large w/ QQ, but if players at the table are willing to pay it, then more power to you. I don't like the flop bet. I'd bet about half pot here.
We can snap off bluffs here if villain x/raises the weak bet, or get away from our hand if villain x/raises the nuts (read-dependent)

Probably betting 35/70 instead of 40/60 but I think it's pretty standard to GII.
