I agree and I think this is a good reason to mix in a 4-bet shove. Hero and V have played together before, V knows that Hero knows V's SB 3-betting range.
What is V going to put us on after opening in early, getting 3-bet from the SB and 4-bet shoving? If you want to really maximize V's FE, 4-bet to about $160ish. In essence ai but it'll look stronger to V.
AA definitely possible for V and then we look terrible. But we're holding an A, a K also. What percent of the time does V 3-bet/fold QQ? Even if he never folds QQ we're not in bad shape but after we open and 4-bet can V put us on JJ?
It's like raising IP otf with the nfd if we think V has FE. We'd prefer to just take it down there but if we don't we have a "back-up plan" in the nfd.
I wouldn't do this a lot but given the history I think it's a nice opportunity for it.
