Fwiw, I've been experimenting a bit with checking flops that I miss when I am the initial raiser and then either betting or raising turn. Position here isn't grest for that, but with limited samples to back up results, it seems to be a play that creates folds. The combination of Vs taking a stab with a weak A or 2nd pair and being willing to fold those kinds of hand and that raising turn looks like I was slow playing flop seems to work a decent amount of the time. I like it better in position, with fewer opponents and also when an over card to the flop comes on the turn, but this is one of those spots where if you raise the blinds bet, it might look like you had been hoping to check raise a monster on the flop. So, I like the preflop open raise and the flop check and I'd consider raising the turn bet. Sometimes a min raise is enough but with players behind and two flush draws, raising closer to pot seems better.
I can't stress more that I like this move better in later position and with fewer opponents but it does seem to be appear powerful to opponents and does seem to take the the pot more often than not. I've run it as a pure bluff HU and with position. That you have second pair, top kicker is probably enough equity to try a play like that in a situation like this.
