Surely this is standard. Raise your normal amount, if he shoves then call. If he folds then work out how to extract value off other players too.

If you've been folding every hand, raising here is probably going to severely reduce Vs shoving range. Even maniacs have a nit-radar.

I think everything that could be said about this preflop has been said. Results?

Spoiler:

Hero limped to try to encourage villain to shove, villain shoved! Everyone else mucked and it got to me. Hero calls with JJ.

Before the flop even came villain showed his hand. A5o. I showed jacks and he said I set a hell of a trap there. On the flop a 5 showed up (but no ace and no flush draw. A couple blanks showed up and hero doubled up. Villain again said I set a hell of a trap there.

Villain reloaded and played more cautiously (he started raising to 10 pf a lot more often instead of just shoving, but I did see him shove hands like 85o and 62o. A new player showed up and raised to 10 in EP and villain shoved on him, and the new player folded. So he did shove on someone who raised to 10, but I suspect villain did that because he gets more folds when he shoves and is unknown to his opponents. But I can't know for sure.

I did see villain shove PF and lose a third time (he ran into QQ).

Always a fun result! I assume you didn't catch the action when he ran into QQ.

No I didn't have the QQ. He did run into KK against someone else when he had 85o and shoved. Then the 85o flopped a straight. But then the turn and river put a straight on the board and made it a split pot.
