This was a new 1/2 table. I had not been there a very long time but I was able to observe some hands between Villians. hand was recorded a while ago and I did not record suits. I dont want to assume it was rainbow but I don't remember it being a huge factor
Hero - (200) Fairly conservative. not many hands since sitting down. Talkative with dealers.
V1 - (200) Based on the hands that he went to showdown with it seemed as though he overvalued often. He wasnt showing down rags. more like TPGK was good to the river for him in most cases.
V2 - (300) check raised multiple times and had a strong hand each time. He value bet from position often.
Preflop
V1 limp. Hero raise to $7 from HJ with AT. V2 call on button. V1 call.
Flop QQJ (20)
V1 check
Hero bet $15
I think I just bet because it's 1/2 and I feel like everyone plays fit or fold. I know it is not the best c-bet board but it is paired and small pocket pairs or whiffed AK will likely fold to a second barrel. If I put another player on a J I think there are a bunch of good cards I can bluff at. If he doesn't raise a Q then I am losing close to the minimum (assuming I don't just check)
V2 call. V1 call.
Turn K ($65)
V1 check
Hero check
Got trapped in the 1/2 mindset and elected to slow play. I think after I hit the gutshot to broadway, my original plan of "bluffing" went out the window and I wasn't very Johnny on the spot. But I think there is merit to checking if I can get more on the river than on the turn.
V2 bets $25
V1 raises to $50
V2 does not worry me too much. It's pretty much what I want to happen when I elected to slowplay. V1 raising made me wonder. This is the first time I had seen him check raise.
Hero folds
Pot is now 145 and its $50 to me to win what will likely be 165 because I doubt V2 folds. But if he shoves I can never be good so I elected to fold because I think he shoves enough times that it is not a good call even for 3 to 1. I do remember weighing V1s range heavily towards Qx broadway cards that boat up.
V2 calls
Honestly don't recall river card.
Does everyone snap fold? Do most of you call given pot size and it is 1/2 so it will be rare to see a shove over the top? There is also river to come.
