1/2 NL AK facing 3bet preflop 1/2 NL AK facing 3bet preflop

Villain 1: Very loose preflop, limps almost every hand, raises very very little
Villain 2: Started off playing tight but has loosened up the last few orbits, folded QQ preflop to a 3bet
Hero: Tight image, showed 1 big bluff

$1/2 NL (9 Handed)
UTG ($100)
EP ($50)
EP+1 ($150)
MP V1 ($225)
MP+1 ($50)
CO ($200)
Button V2 ($175)
SB Hero ($425)
BB ($100)

Hero is dealt AK

UTG limps, EP limps, 1 fold, V1 raises to $15, 2 folds, V2 raises to $40, Hero ????

First thing I notice about the hand is V1's raise. I believe he has raised only like once since he's been at the table. He likes to see lots of flops so I take his raise as being fairly strong.

V2 is a close friend. He plays aggressively, is certainly capable of making plays, but I haven't seen him 3bet light so far tonight. We also talked about leaving within the next few hands so I'm not sure if this would affect his play or not.

So what should I do? Flatting would suck because A) OOP and B) would give V1 a chance to come over the top. If we raise, how much should we make it? And that would commit us to any allins correct? What happens if both of them shove?

Thanks in advance!

Whenever a passive fish comes out raising I automatically give them credit for a big hand. If your friend is aware how little the other player is raising preflop and he still 3 bet him u should assume he's got a big hand also probably QQ+ AK. If u flat the 3bet and V1 ships it u probably have to fold and even if he doesn't your hand looks a lot like what is AK so how much action r u going to get if u do outflop both of them. It's unlikely that if u 4 bet either will get it in with a worse hand or fold better, maybe V1 folds JJ but that's it. I think this is one of the few times i would just muck AK. I just don't think trying to get players to fold strong hands preflop is the way to make money at 1-2. Also what u said about leaving soon is really all that relevent because people get dealt AA/KK on their last hand just as often as their first hand and in fact I find people about to leave generally don't want to risk any profit unnecessarily when they won't have a chance to win it back.

if your read on V1 is solid i think i i would fold even if V2 is not in the picture, once he is in it's an insta fold.

V1 rarely raises. what does he raise? probably JJ+/AK. if you 3bet him he is probably shoving and then you must fold or calling. if he calls or you just flast his bet it usually will play the same. if you hit an A or a K hes folding if he has an underpair and you win a small pot or get stacked if he hit a set or has an AA and a K spikes, if you don't hit you will just need to fold to his flop bet.

imho wait for better opportunities even though the evening is nearing to an end.

I just instamuck without too much thought really.

V2's range looks like QQ/KK/AA/AK. V2 also appears to have a hand. Our hand doesn't do well against that range and we wont know what to do when the flop comes.

Ugh, I'm pretty sure I butchered this hand.

EP+1 was the one who made it $15. He's an average player but seems a little frustrated with the bad play

So that means V1 only called and V2 only made it $40 with two guys already in the pot which seems a bit small.

Do you guys still say fold?

Sorry for the screw up, it was late.
