Two limpers in EP, Hero is MP with AJ and raises to $15. next player to act calls $15, everyone else folds:

Pot: $37
Flop: KT4
Hero: ?

This is the sort of situation where you should be c-betting $20/$25 most of the time and occasionally check. Effective stack sizes, villain and your image will modify this a bit.

The question of what to do on turn if you get a call is probably more interesting. What the turn card was, stack sizes and villain's play style really matter at that point.

My coach said I should've bet the flop as well, anyway, here's how it proceeds:

Two limpers in EP, Hero is MP with AJ and raises to $15. next player to act calls $15, everyone else folds:

Pot: $37
Flop: KT4
Hero: checks
Caller: checks
Turn: 10
Hero: checks
Caller bets $15
Hero asks Caller "if I show, will you fold?" and this catches Caller off guard, and elicits a genuine response/smile from him. Based on Callers mannerisms he seems comfortable with his hand, Hero folds. Caller turns over KJ

The main problem is that flop hits right home with V's perceived range. I assume him to generally hit weak like middle pair or TP decent kicker as what happened. It's basically a one barrel at most.

c-bet Flop ... c/f most Turns, but I can continue here when board pairs since I can now beat KQ/KJ hands if Ace hits. I am only c/c if the Ace hits though since QJ could be out there.

You could check Flop and c/r Turn here also, but most wont like this move.

Most actions here seem spewy against a 'standard' opponent, but once you check the Flop you have pretty much lost the hand without some pretty big 'street cred' for straights and flushes. GL

There's an argument in favor of checking: You're getting called by a wide range of hands, draws that you're ahead of, as well as hands that you're behind. It's not a great board for getting lots of folds.

There's an argument in favor of betting: That you should be c-betting most flops heads-up. You can make a better case for bluffing when there are very few possible good turn cards. In this case only non-heart queens are great cards.

Definitely continuation betting 77/88/99. With this particular hand I don't think either betting or checking is clearly best, though I would lean towards checking.

Far more important that what you do, is why you do it. What reason did your coach give you for betting?

If you look at this post on continuation betting how would you rate this spot:
