When someone donks 10 into 40 like this IMHO they usually have a draw or a middling pair and we should treat it as a check. Just bet whatever we would have bet and don't give our 3 opponents a chance to improve their equity.

I disagree with the notion that AJ doesn't C/R stack off on this flop some proportion of the time. He only has a pot sized bet left and the other stacks only have around $90 and they just limp/called preflop so he's not so scared of them. He only needs to worry about getting through hero (the guy who raised from the button after 3 limps). If he has TPTK, he has zero reason to flat call, allow others to stay in the hand and also allow hero to catch up with hands like KQ, AQ, AK, KJ, KTs.

Our unknown villain does this with more than just 99,33,J9 and after our $40 raise, remaining stacks are small relative to the pot. He only needs to have a few combos of AJ, QT or T8 in his range in order for folding to be a clear mistake.
