Hello everyone, I am new here and wanted to get some opinions on this hand I played at Hawaiian Gardens. The buy in is 20bb, new table 9 players.

Dealt AJo UTG+1. (18BB)

Preflop: (2.5bb)
UTG open limps 1 BB

I raise to 6bb

MP calls 6bb (loose gambling player played with him before)

Short stack (7bb) goes all in

3 ways to flop: (41.5)

Flop is 858r

I shove for 11bb.

What do you guys think of this. Since MP is getting roughly 4:1 on a call, and AJo is probably at the bottom of my isolation raise, would you guys think that it would be better to just shove preflop or to limp call with AJo?

Thanks for the input.

20 BB buyin? Really? Wow, that is extremely short. I think limp-reraise would be better when your playing only 18 BB to be quite honest- or just shove pre, especially if there is straddling going on= more dead money in the pot to go after.

You will miss the flop so often with a hand like AJ off though, so open raising can get you in alot of sticky spots when going multiway and you whiff flop.

Edit: Yeah, after one limper also putting in money just shove pre man.

Should be either folding or shoving pre. Either is fine, I probably shove, just depends on how much you like variance.

You played it fine. Limp/shove pre also works.

Not really, no. Making it 6bb pre with 12 behind is awful. With this type of hand we don't have a lot of equity multi-way, so shoving and winning the pot without showdown or being heads up is much better.

You might want to reread the OP.

Thanks for the input. Will probably stick to shoving preflop with AJo in the future.
