Super deep reg/ good player 1/2 game. I was happy that I sat at a table that had 4-5 stacks 200+bb deep including 2 guys sitting with at least $600 and another with $900 all sitting to my left. All but one of the deep stacks seemed to be very good competent players whom I didn't really want to tangle with unfortunately.

Been playing a tight straight forward game up until this point, my image I believe is tighter than usual, HOWEVER I have been smashing dry boards with cbets especially when checked too and I was the PFR. After breaking even after a few hands I was running hot in position. Got dealt 22, JJ, and QQ 3 orbits in a row in the CO or on the button. Flops came down very dry with one paint card all three times and Cbet them to take down the pot. People were starting to notice.

In this hand our villain is literally one of the few fish at the table. Very aggro and was winning at first. One of the regs picked up on something and picked him off for a buyin and villain now seems to be spewing chips a bit after buying back in.

1/2 9 handed:

SB Hero ($280)
BB V1 ($150)

hero is dealt AK

4 limpers plus the blinds and hero opens to $12 from the small blind
V1 calls and folds from everyone else

Flop ($32) 95A
Hero leads for $20, V1 quickly raises to $86

Hero?

You have an SPR of 5 vs. a tilting fish. He put more than 1/2 his stack in already. Just get it in on the flop, he shouldn't be folding anyway. If he outdrew you, oh well.

Get it all-in on the flop....tilted fish will get it in here with AQ, AJ, flush draw. If he flopped a set or two pair...so be it.

I'm not happy when he raises less then his whole stack, but flush draws and worse AX will make up enough of his range that I would just reraise enough to put him all in.

Results:

Hero shoves and Villain calls

run out is 8 and 7

I show A-K and the tilted fish laughs and tables 105
and says he thought I was trying to steal it.

I'm gotta read up more on SPR, that was a new one for me.

Sounds like a ****ty game, even if it is deep. Find a better table.

I hate playing the SB, even with a hand this big. In fact at some tables I'd just complete here and get away on most boards.

I think your open is too small with all those players in there. Make it $15-17 instead. I'm surprised you didn't get a cascade of callers.

Against the V as described, shove. Or if you think he's more likely to bet the turn than to call your shove you can flat him and check the turn looking to snap him off. Depends on the guy.

I would suggest raising more PF. Probably around $20 due to all the limpers. Once the flop hit and he raised its shove all the way. You played it fine.

Obviously his preflop call was pretty crazy, but the titled fish got in his money while he was ahead. That tends to not be very unusual if you get raised in this spot: you can be behind/flipping against draws, and way behind made hands.

Board: 9h 5c Ah
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 50.101% 50.10% 00.00% 496 0.00 { Th5h }
Hand 1: 49.899% 49.90% 00.00% 494 0.00 { AsKs }

You going to lose your stack slightly more than 50% of the time against Th5h.

Raise to $18 to $20 pre. Even if everyone folds, its a big win for your hand. You really want this heads up being OOP especially with just ace high. As played, never folding flop

Yea I didn't know the exact stove numbers but I wasn't thrilled when he showed the pair/FD I know its a race at that point. As far as raise sizes pre at the table 10 was as large as was getting called. 15-20 dollar pre flop raises weren't getting called and my image was tighter than usual. One PP may have a good point about it being a ****ty game. I cashed out after losing around 35 in another hand.
