Hero/240/prolly viewed as solid tag
CO /160/weak,tight rapper style kid
BTN/750/solid 40yr grinder
SB/300/35yr female playing pretty well but might be making too many speculative calls pre.
BB/250/her boyfriend, solid and a bit tricky. He had just check/shove turn on a 4 straight/3 flush board vs 40yr old grinder.

Pretty terrible table overall, HSP is running on the big screen and people are talking about hands and everyone seems to know who durrrr is etc. Can't really change table since it's saturday nite and there's 20+ people on the waiting list.

Folded to hero in the Hijack with AJ (so sick i know) I raise to 10$.

Flop comes J98

Pot: 50$

Hero b/f 40$...I honestly wanted to c/f but couldn't bring myself to since I has OMGTPTK. I feel could easily be beat on this flop already...even if I'm not it's going to be one tough turn to negociate oop since I'm going to hate almost every card that come off.

Bet a bit smaller since you are going to bet/fold. $30 would get the same thing done.

Also if you get called and you spike an A or J and face little resistance, you can still set it up to get your stack in on a blank river.. (i.e.. turn is Ah/Jd, you have 200 left in your stack, pot is 110 (when you bet 30 and u get 1 caller (or who knows u get 2.. w/e for this example you get 1), you bet 60, get 1 caller, river is 2c, pot is 230 and your stack is 140, and you can shove easily).

Terrible post. I'm assuming you got your 4 callers pre. What happened after you bet?

If you are thinking that you are going to hate the turn card (even though there are a decent number of bricks out there) why are you juicing up the pot now? Do you think that any of these players are going to lay down the hands that you are afraid will spike on the turn (or anything that is beating you already) - let's get serious. Anyone with a T is calling here, a pair with a gutshot might call here also (QJ for example).

Just go into pot control now, since unless you decide to start overbetting the pot here, you aren't chasing anyone away. (and if the turn bricks you can bet then, better line imo than bet flop, check turn - especially with a solid player in position on us.)

Even though you have top pair, you are not chasing away a lot of draws/one pair hands. More than a third of the deck completes those draws. I'd check this flop, as weak as that sounds.

yep 4 callers, what happened after the flop bet is irrelevant.

Pretty gross right in the wheelhouse of the hands they will call a pfr with. yeah I think $40-$50 on the flop is good and if that doesn't win the hand then you have to give up.
