Villian utg1 effective stack 350. Hero is in bb with 7h10h. Folded to villain he raises to 10. There is 2 callers then I call in the sb.
Flop is 7 10 Q rainbow. I check villain bets 25 fold to me I call.
Turn is a 4. I check villain jams.
What do you guys do here?
There is no reason for him to jam a set I wouldn't think. It led me to believe he had aces or kings. I did end up making the call.

Fold pre, you are simply not going to be able to make money playing 10-7 out of position in a raised pot. The hand is garbage with lots of reverse implied odds.

Once you hit gin as played, raise the flop with a quite vulnerable two pair and get as much money in right now as possible. When you choose to play 10-7 from the blinds, this is as good as its get. I am raising the flop to a 100, and jamming all good turns if called.

Ok soAs played I should try to play this hand as fast as possible then instead of me trying to sorta play it slower.
But even with it only being 8$ preflop to possibly win 40 I should not be defending with 7 10 suited?

Yeah. You can slowplay sets once in a while on dry boards, but bottom two pair is doing much better once you shovel in money when your equity is at its peak on the flop.

The problem with calling here pre isnt neccesary the $8 bucks pre: its the very likely follow up mistakes+ reverse implied odds situations that is gonna happen postflop at a decent frequenzy. Such as going broke to bottom set on 10-7-2 flop, or paying off a better top pair for couple of streets on 2-4-10 flop.

No, the suited two gappers that are not face cards are much weaker then they look. You won't hit enough really good flops to balance the times you miss or have the second best hand. For the most part the suited two gappers should only be played when you are raising and trying to squeeze or get heads up.

As for this specific hand I would have to know more about villain. The board has no flush draws but there are a lot of likely straight draws. Is villain playing a strong hand quickly to charge your possible draws? Does the range of hands villain can be playing hard include worse hands? Can villain be pushing a straight draw themselves? Do you need to allow for any pure air bluffs? Without some read on villain's play style this is guesswork.

definitely agree with those that said to check/raise the flop. Your hand flopped extremely well, but is very vulnerable moving forward. I'd try to get as much money in now as the favorite.
