Been playing in the game maybe an hour and a half with the Villain. I have never played with them in the past.

V (300ish) 20s or 30s, been drinking beers, has been pretty aggressive, opening ~75% of hands to $10. Mostly people haven't been playing back at him (with the exception of one guy who would 3b on V left a bit and V would always flat).

I have seen V play two biggish pots to get a little sense of his style.

Hand 1: V raised his standard 10 in mp and guy next to him 3b to 25. other player calls, V calls. flop TJAcc. V check, guy cbets 50, guy next to him makes it 150. V reraises to 300. Original raiser jams. Guy that made it 150 folds. V calls and has K3cc vs guys KQ.

Hand 2: couple players limp, I limp btn, V in bb raises to 10. 3 Callers and I call. Flop TTAcc. V cbets 30, player raises to 85, fold around, V reraises to 185 (with 400 left). Player calls. Turn blank. V bets 200, guy jams him all in, V tanks for 2 minutes and eventually calls with QTss. This hand made me feel he's not thinking hand through because he had no plan if reraised.

Hero (285) Regular in the room, late 20s, been pretty card dead, TAG, took down a few pots with cbets but overall folding a lot and haven't shown any hands.

On to the hand:

Hero opens to 10 with JJ utg, V calls two seats over, other player calls. Flop 248r. Hero cbets 20, V raises to 50, other player folds. Hero?

I hate these spots. Can't fold, don't wanna reraise and get shoved on (unless I'm willing to stack off), so I think calling is best. He's shown that he raises with equity so he's got something here whether it's 99, 88 or 35.

It would be nice to know how he plays on later streets. He's clearly very agro OTF, but does he continue that aggression? I'd probably call turn and c/f to a third barrel. Not saying this is the best line though. I'm interested to hear what others suggest.

call and prepare to call almost any turn...

He can have all two pair, 35, 56, maybe 99 TT(does he 3bet with these hands?) or maybe 8x and Air

Your C bet size is way too small if it is at least 3 ways.....

Against a drunk fishy guy who opens 75% of hands, I'm limp/re-raising JJ.

Your stack-to-pot ration is around ten. Not awesome for an overpair of Jacks. So it's not really worth commenting on the rest of the hand. If you had been thinking a street or two ahead, you wouldn't be in this situation.

Either open raise to $25. or limp re-raise to $45

It feels like we're a little 'wrong-footed' in this hand, OOP and not in the lead. As others have mentioned, a stronger stance preflop might have clarified things. You could have limped and been at least 75% certain that it was coming back to you raised.... Since V is close to your left and has a reputation... it might have come back to you with 4 or 5 callers... leaving you the opportunity to make a big reraise ($50 - 60). You'd like only get V calling.

As played, I guess the choice is to get into call-down mode.... (turn for sure, probably river too) - or come back over the top right away. I expect you are ahead and I'd call him down.

It was 3 ways to the flop and after rake I bet 2/3 pot. I don't believe he 3b any pocket pair hands that don't beat me pre

Against this guy, I can't decide if I want to raise flop and gii or call and let him hang himself on turn. Based on the other two hands, just raise now and never fold.

You don't want this hand to go much further. Call if its a rainbow board, shove if either jack blocks a FD. You're only drawing very thin against a set, and you don't want an A or K to come on the turn and scare you off your hand.

Grunch

Given how fishy V has played so far I'm raising with the intent to get it in. Raise to 130 or so.

Against this guy IŽd call and evaluate Turn. Raising lets him get away from hands that have 2-5 outs. HeŽs aggro and we can expect him to continue firing OTT
