1/2 game

hero: UTG + 2... mid 30s... $400
Villain: CO... late 60... has won many big pots during this game, has almost $700

Hero: J10dd... raises to $10
Villain: 3bets to $30... have not seen him 3bet too much

BB calls and hero calls:

flop: Ah 5d 6d

BB and hero checks - villain raises to $40

BB folds, hero calls

turn: Qs

hero checks: villain raises to $125

thoughts? I have a flush draw and a straight if a King comes on the river. thinking villain has AA, AK, AQ, QQ... even though this is pretty tight range, I don't see him doing this with any bluffs.

thanks

I might be a nit but I think I can find a fold here fairly easily pre flop. You definitely can't call on the turn. you could have potentially check-raised the flop to get some FE from KK, QQ. Now on the turn you probably don't have any FE at all and aren't getting the right price to call. Fold the turn.

Its really thin, but you only need to make $50 more when you hit to make the call profitable. If I hit a diamond I would bet small like $100. If its a K I would check/jam. It would be nice if the Ad was on the board because you will occasionally run into AKdd/AQdd.

Pre is a bit loose but not terrible. Im usually not a fan of opening this hand in EP but its not awful. Heads up Id probably fold to the 3bet but 3ways its ok.

Math problem at this point.

You have between 10 and 12 clean outs (Ad and Qd might be no good) and there is $295 in the pot to call $125 with ~$200 behind. So pot is laying you 2.4-1 immediate odds. It is actually pretty close provided you can actually win the remaining $200 if you hit.

I agree you have very little FE on the turn unless he has something like KK or maybe AK...no way he lays down AQ, QQ or AA. Tough spot actually but in game I probably fold AP.

I snap fold this pre-flop OOP. You have to flop a huge hand and might not get paid vs. a decent V.

I don't mind the call on the flop too much, but don't love it. As played, I fold the turn. I highly doubt you get paid, and, unlikely, but you could be drawing dead to diamonds.

Please put pot size on each street.

Calling the 3b pre is fine after bb cold calls.

I personally hate folding decent equity, so I would call here and jam every K/diamond on the river. Betting anything less than all in when we make a hand is likely bad.
